Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

I my killstreak rewards set to:

1. UAV (I can rack up 5-6 of those per match and it adds nicely to the bonus points for leveling up)
2. Sensory Gun
3. Harriers

I wish I had opened up the option for the Emergency Drop but I rarely get that many kills in a row anyways.

When dudes approach me with shields I Semtex them

I've had one guy try that on me.

He sat right on the smoke, the box dropped and killed him.

I laughed and laughed.

It was pretty cool.

I don't mind someone grabbing it if I'm not around for it and I let the rest of the team know to pick it up. But when it's called in and the caller is right next to it. It's pretty dick to steal it. Of course, it will result in a quick team kill of said person in HTM. It's also why I never bother with package drops.

The person who called in the care package can pick it up a lot faster than someone (on either team) who didn't call it in, so that isn't really a good reason to not use it if you would use it otherwise.

The real problem is only about 10% of people are wearing headsets at any given time so you can't always tell who called it in and if they are even around.

That being said, on the occasions where I call an air drop in, I try and stay right on that spot to make sure I get it. But, if I get killed before hand, I rarely bother to try and make it back. I just hope a teammate gets to it first.

Doesn't help if I'm killed in the process of retrieving it. And there are times I've accidentally killed myself with it. So I will let others know to pick it up or sometimes I will purposefully drop it nearer to a teammate than myself.

But take this as an example. Playing last night, I'm covering a teammate that dropped it near him. It took a bit for him to get from under cover to retrieve it because he was being fired upon and holding position. I'm covering his flank and a teammate respawns next to it and immediately picks it up.

I just don't bother with adding it to my killstreak anymore. Too much of a hassle and I end up throwing a grenade half the time or planting a claymore.

Sometimes I'll throw a care package near some of my team mates...for example, on the Sub Base level, I like hanging out in a 2nd floor window, if guys are below me outside the window I'll drop the smoke near them & let them take it. As long as my team gets it, I'm OK with it.

In a team scenario I don't think it really matters. Just as long as the person who grabs it is not an asshat.

has anyone killed an enemy with a care package drop? I have killed a teamate, but not the other team. you'd have to be pretty damn lucky.

I had an enemy get me with one once, it took an awkward bounce off the plane in Terminal, funny as hell to watch on the killcam.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

Has anyone seen someone killed by falling debris from a shot down harrier, chopper or ac130? I'm thinking since one can be killed by the air drop, why not by falling debris? I've almost been killed, had a harrier come down right next to me.

I'm pretty sure you can't be killed by falling debris.

Yep, I was hanging around my red smoke when someone killed me. Then I see the 100+ pop up right after I spawned. I went back to get the crate and sure enough he was dead under the crate. You get a nice bonus if its the last kill of the match.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

Well the little tactical insertion "cheat" pissed me off tonight. on 3 straight games the guy was up to 30 kills in now time..nuked once and then nothing but helicopter and he only died 2x. The reason I know it was this because the final kill showed his buddy spawn right in front of him and he shot him...just a bunch of shit

Unfortunately, the patch did nothing to fix the power and range of the 1887 shotgun.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

Yeah, I hopped on this morning and ended up with a FFA with four pre-pubescents who were all level 70, double-fisting 1887s and had clearly spent enough time in the game to have memorized all the boards. I don't mind getting called a bitch and a **** by a bunch of kids and I don't mind getting my ass handed to me by better players, but something about the two happening at once really sucks the fun out of the game.

I don't know...After a round in Quarry against a team with at least 3 snipers this morning, shotgunners are saints in comparison.

this. While I've been killed by my fair share of 1887s, I hate, hate, HATE getting killed from so far away you have no idea where it comes from. At least with the 1887 you have a chance of killing the person.

There's nothing wrong with shot gunners. Those who complain are the people who are too careless to avoid them. If you're in a map that you know has a lot of people running around with shotguns stay in long hallways and the like so you can shoot them first. Shot guns are close range, so avoid those situations. If you know there are snipers, do you just run in the open? Same thing applies. All the guns have separate pros and cons, and all of them have weaknesses. Use them.

There is nothing wrong with shotguns. You are also correct - they are great close range weapons that necessitate certain tactics.

That however does not describe the 1887 guns which have an absurdly long range and (in the opinion of many folks) completely break the balance between SMG/AR/Shotgun.

Yes. I run around in as open an area I can find, fire my gun indiscriminately into the air, and shout "I'm right here!!" into my headset. Why do you ask?

Obviously there is nothing wrong with snipers or they wouldn't put sniper rifles in the game. But 3 players out of 5 on a team sniping with only 2 guys actually engaging the action? I personally find that obnoxious.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

I don't see what the big deal is with the 1887's.

The last two times I even knew they were in a game I played in was because I had killed the guy and took them off him.
