Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

We were all saying "Oh great another modern FPS" when they announced COD4... and look how that turned out.

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Looks good, but just more of the same. I appreciate the faster speed vehicle, otherwise nothing that different. I just hope the missions are varied and break a little from the linear COD formula.

Looks good... but very spoilery. I don't think I want to watch an entire level being played.

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

I got two of those Eyeclops Night Vision headsets for the kids last Christmas. This looks almost exactly the same.

I think I'll just get the steel book special edition.

Looks pretty neat, wonder how well the goggles will actually work.

Regular edition for me.

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

They work pretty good. There is a small LCD screen on the inside. Looking forward is fine but you lose a lot of peripheral vision. You can switch the display from black and white to green.

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Interesting that the the regular edition cover will retain the COD logo but it's not on any of the other packaging.

Anyway, I'm not a peeping tom or a serial killer, so just the regular edition for me, thanks.

Well, looks like I'm committed to the Prestige edition, then

My buddy actually stole a tank-mount night-vision 'pack' when he was in the army back in '89 or so. The thing was about the size of a desktop computer and when you turned it on it made the 'click-wooooooop' sound like in Silence of the Lambs. It was the coolest thing ever at that time.

A to some of your Q's - Prestige Edition suggested retail is $149 & yes, the COD Classic on XBLA & PSN does have full MP (via @fourzerotwo)about 3 hours ago from Tweetie

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

$70 more isn't bad considering what you get over the Hardened edition. But storing that would be difficult -- it's huge. Also, living in Vegas, it's never actually dark enough to get any use of that thing, barring a camping trip.
I'm trying to decide between regular and hardened. Doesn't seem like you get that much more for an extra $20, but if the CoD XBLA game is 1200 points and if it's a spruced-up HD version of the game, that might be worth the difference. Not sure yet...

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

I wouldn't mind being able to play IW's original CoD on the 360 - especially if it's "optimized".
