From Purkeynator at CAG's brother who is a GameStop manager. Here's a decent BF deal on a RB2 bundle if you're on the fence or going to pick it up for someone:
buy Rockband 2 bundle (any version) and get track pack 2 for 99 cents
That gets you the game + wireless guitar + wireless drums + microphone and 124 songs total (84 on disc + 20 free download + 20 track pack 2 download/export).

I think my little DLC prediction from earlier today might be wrong..
I forgot that this week marks the Euro-release of RB2. Wonder if we'll get some more Euro-bands like last time?

I am playing it right now and REALLY digging it. Yes it does have scoring and pitch recognition with the Zune. However...it does not show the notes on the screen. You are pretty much singing to a blank screen where the note/lyrics normally would be. You can see the score meter going up when you are singing on pitch and you will still get the "OK","GOOD","COOL" grades as well. It will definitely be fun to play it with friends using your own music if you all know the words...or even better if you don't. :-) You also have the option to have Virtual videos to play as you sing. I just sang Xanadu (DON'T JUDGE ME!) and the video behind it fit perfectly. The characters on screen dance to the beat of your song and it looks all trippy. The other thing that I like is that it doesn't take off for flourishes. You can go all Christina Aguilera and still get a great score. Pretty good variety of songs, too. I haven't seen any DLC yet.

Do the songs from Lips via the Zune have the pitch meter or do you only know you're doing well because your score is increasing? I would love to at least have a line over some type of visualization. Might get me to bite the bullet, even though the main tracklist is pretty meh for my tastes.

No pitch meter. :-( I wish the wireless mic worked with Rockband!
I forgot to add then when you add a song to your Lips library from another device, you can send the tag info to Microsoft to "vote" on it becoming future DLC.

Lame!
I knew they didn't work in Rock Band already, but I'll just add Lame! to that as well. Hopefully Harmonix will patch that in so that I can have wireless mic support. I'm torn as to which I like better. Wireless would give me more freedom to run around the room while singing, but I couldn't wrap the cord around my arm or twirl the mic and catch it. Decisions, decisions!

Here are the 3 newest band members that I made, Gene, Ace, and Paul:
GENE
ACE
PAUL
Ace looks kinda crappy because his lips are showing up white. On the game they are black, which makes a huge difference, but for some reason his pics all have white lips.

NICE! I'm in for the Soundgarden and Killers... I love those Soundgarden tracks, much more than say Spoonman, at least to sing... wish we could get Rusty Cage or My Wave, but these are good ones too.... hopefully they won't be charted too damn hard. Now I can go ahead and get the RB2 premium theme off the marketplace, I was waiting to see how many points I'd need on Tuesday (if we were getting a full album I'd skip the theme for now).
That's a hot deal you guys are getting about the track pack vol.2 but I think most people interested in that probably already have RB2! I certainly wouldn't pay much more than that for this disc - you can finish the setlist in about 80 minutes and there is nothing else to do in the 'game'. If you don't have ANY of those songs though, it's a good/cheap way to get them.

Thanks...that's the circa 1973 Gene, lol. I haven't seen any other Kiss characters yet, and I have Peter in the works. I don't drum that much, and he's my least favorite member, so naturally he's last. I really get wrapped up in that stuff, I think Gene and Ace's faces are around 35 layers each.
