The Offical Animal Crossing: City Folks Thread.
Since next Sunday is the release date, is anyone getting excited about the game? I was at first but i'm holding off until I can play it for a couple of hours to see if it matches the excitement of the Gamecube version.
Video of AC: CF and info about the game.

No idea. Sometimes I want it and sometimes I don't. They didn't really try very hard with this new one and I'm not sure if I want to support this. On the other hand I do like animal crossing.

I love Animal Crossing, but the one house thing is incredibly disappointing on a console. I understand for the DS, but come on. Still I'll probably wait on some reviews.

Only difference is that the houses are spread out now, and not all in the same location on the map.

I went ahead and ordered the version without the microphone since I'm not sure how much the microphone will get used, and with the $10 preorder bonus only on the non-bundle, the bundle savings is a wash anyway.

What are you talking about? There are four towns per village, just like the Gamecube version:

Damn I had only been keeping up through the Wii thread where people were mentioning you only could have one house.
This is now a definite purchase for me. Thanks for correcting me Groucho.

Woohoo! Groucho, you have just made my day. In the Nintendo Power I got in the mail a couple of weeks ago, it read like everyone was going to have to share the same house like you did in the DS version of the game. It didn't say a word about people being able to own their own home like in the Cube version of AC. Thanks for this great piece of info!

I guess there's not going to be a lot of DVDTalk activity for this game.

I'm debating between the mic or not. I don't know if it's worth an extra $20 bucks since that is the preorder price at Amazon.

I didn't think that would be a problem with friend codes and people on here. I just hate typing.

I still hate the fact movement is the "rolling logs" effect instead of the square by square movement like it was on the Cube. But since now we now know each person can own their on home, I guess I can live with it.

How much trash talking would there be in Animal Crossing anyway? Your town is f****y? We're all playing Animal Crossing. We're not shooting each other in the face.
Let's all get the mic, a cold beer, and let's go fishing.

Skipping it. It's supposedly the exact same game with a few enhancements (things moved around and new controls). It's sad Nintendo can take one of their most creative franchise and turn it into a series of rehashes. The DS version was nice, because it added portability and improved upon the size of the house (limited the first game for me).
The biggest reason of all is that the franchise lost all the magic when the NES games were stripped. They certainly wont be in this version.

I'm going to wait for the reviews. I love the DS version of the game but what's so great about it is that ability to pick it up and put it down whenever you want.

One big thing that I think will be really good is Holidays are back! Like real holidays. I saw jingle in the background of one of the pictures.
