Saw that but I'm at work and can't check till I get home. I think the previous DotW are usually active on the following Monday only up to a certain time before the next one goes live.

Re: Bioshock 2: Out now(ish)

Finally got back into this (long Borderlands detour) and need a little help. I found the old black lady and made my way back to the train, and when I went to board it said I hadn't yet gotten all the little sisters. I tried roaming back but can't find 'em. Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks~

Use the map it marks where all the little sisters are located.

Yeah, the map tells you where they are. Also, below the map there are icons that tell you how many there are and how many you've processed. Don't forget to listen for both the Sisters and the Big Daddys because it's pretty obvious when they're near.

Re: Bioshock 2: Out now(ish)

I'm almost finished with my first playthrough and I'll need to play it at least twice more. On easy mode for remaining achievements and hard for that trophy. The one bitch will be the researching part as I just don't get it. Any pointers on how to complete this task and the best methods for doing so? Thanks!

Once you get the Camera, every time you see an enemy use it, then fight. When the enemy has a glow to them when viewing through the camera, this means there is research potential.

Here's an interesting video

I had already forgotten there was a research camera. I scan the shit out of everything early as to maximize those bonuses, then I'm done with the camera never to worry about it again.

Which achievements? I got everything in one play-through, I can't imagine it taking three to get them all.

I'm at a rare point where I only have 40 points in my account, so I have to wait until I get home to add a couple 1600 point cards before I can d/l it.

I will be getting it for sure though.

Doh, I just watched the Camera Guide. Now I need to go back and do that Pauper level again to research all the thuggish splicers. Thankfully, I just started the level after it.

Thanks. I wasn't scrolling through every floor so missed one. Did it, headed to the train, and a Big Sis leaped out at me. I know I should've taken her on, but it was really late so I just hopped on the train and headed straight out of town.

Is the Rapture Metro single player like Minerva's Den or is it multiplayer?

Rapture Metro is multi-player. It contains 6 new maps and other perks for the online folk. Skip it.

Holy shit, Minerva's Den is fucking amazing! It felt like Bioshock 1 again. Great, great story. High production values. An absolute steal at $10. I played it straight through and it took about 6 hours, but I did search everything pretty thoroughly.

Highly recommended

6 hours? Nice. Wasn't expecting anything that long at all.

I'm trying to 100% Metroid before I start this. I'm pretty pumped to get to it though. How are the cheevos?

Re: Bioshock 2: Out now(ish)

Not bad at all. I didn't have to go out of my way for any of them and they're very obvious.

There are 8, 5 of which are story related. Another is to deal with all the little sisters (obviously). The other two are are not as obvious until you get into it, but if you fully explore everything, you'll have no problem.

Spoiler:
One is to destroy the 10 vacuum bots that are scattered across the two main areas. They're easy to spot (and hear), you just have to make sure you go in every room.

The last is to get the high score in Rapture's first video game, Spitfire. Again, very easy once you find it and figure out how the thing controls. It's like Geometry Wars, but only a single-stick shooter.

I really dug getting access to that Master Protector Tonic straight away from completing The Protector Trials DLC. It doubles the amount of time the little sis harvets ADAM, but it also doubles the amount she picks up. Even at twice as long, it wasn't very long.

Re: Bioshock 2: Out now(ish)

I really enjoyed Minerva's Den too. I think it may be the longest DLC expansion I've ever played. Well, not counting anything from Bethesda.

I also caved and got the Protector Trials after finishing MD. It is the opposite of fun.

Re: Bioshock 2: Out now(ish)

Finished Minerva last night. If you love Bioshock, it's a MUST BUY. I loved every minute of it. On par with Borderlands' General Knoxx, it's easily the best $10 I've spent on DLC.

Given how I played through the core game (hard, brass balls, saving all L. Sisters, collecting all Adam) I decided to toss this on easy and just go to town. With the Protector Trials bonus tonic, you are armed to the teeth in a couple hours and basically unstoppable. Very fun. The new laser was nice, and the Gravity Well Plasmid was pretty cool as well, even though it seemed like a variation on the Cyclone Trap.

Assuming you save the Little Sisters and collect all the Adam you are easily looking at a 6 hour romp in Rapture(on easy). Pretty impressive given the core game is roughly double that at 6x the cost(well, initially anyway).

I finished the core game today and hope to start this tomorrow.

I'll have to remember to check it out. I've yet to start my Bioshock 2. I decided to go through the first one again first. I just became a Big Daddy last night and am about to get my Little Sister when I quit last night.

We are planning patches for the 360 and PS3 to fix some functionality issues, but they will not drastically change gameplay (and I’ll post the patch notes when I get them – these two items are still in with QA.) We will also not be offering Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den on the PC in the future – and I want to say that I’m sorry for the disappointment this will cause to PC players out there. As always, if any of these issues change in the future, I will update you guys first, but at this point in time I don’t want to make you wait any longer and these are the most definite answers I have and you guys should deem them final decisions.
Great to know that customer satisfaction is their top priority. They made people wait months for an answer that's essentially "no, actually, we're not fixing anything at all."
