Apparently somebody dubbed "2K Marin" has said this on some board somewhere:
So, everyone gets their money back.
“BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams is part of a prequel and at the same time is a sequel, so you’re kind of close on the interpretation of the trailer. The rising replica of Rapture can represent something to do with this or something part of a bigger surprise that everyone has to wait and see to play.”

The title is fine. I just watched the teaser and well, it's a meh teaser for me. I've already read the description of the teaser, but I was still expecting more, don't ask me what.
I'll still get the game in release date, o before if I can

A post on the official Bioshock 2 forums confirms that Bioshock: Sea of Dreams will be “mostly a prequel” to the first game.
The post also shows a picture of one of “New Daddy’s” “experimental suits” (pictured above).

Seeming that Bioshock 2 is going to be mostly a prequel. One of the greatest things too look forward to is what to expect of the Big Daddy. In the picture you can see a sneak peak of one of the big daddy’s experimental suits. One of the new weapons that the Big daddy’s will have is an archaic looking wooden cannon. The tank on his back is a lot smaller than what we’re use to seeing, and the gloves and pants are more of a leather rather than the traditional Diver suits. And probably the most noticeable change that the “New Daddy” has is the helmet, it only has three sight holes, and they are all forward facing. Whereas the Big Daddy’s helmet has multiple sight holes and they give multiple angles of sight.

Of course. I had that story up all morning waiting to post it until I got through everything else that happened overnight. Immediately after posting it, this hits the top of my RSS feeds: http://www.videogaming247.com/2009/0...and-info-fake/
So, nevermind.
2K Games has just confirmed to videogaming247.com that the Bioshock Sea of Dreams “New Daddy” screenshot is actually some early concept work and is not genuine.
“It’s basically an early concept screenshot from the 2006 E3 press kit,” a 2K spokesperson said. “The guy that wrote it [the article] either didn’t know or did it on purpose.”
As to whether the game will be a prequel, the rep told us that “so far, nothing has been announced and more information with be released later in the year.”
Bioshock: Sea of Dreams will be released “late 2009″.

BioShock Could Be A Long-Term, Six-Game Franchise
Global President of 2K Games, Christoph Hartmann, tells MCV that BioShock could emulate Star Wars' long-term success if handled properly:
Global President of 2K Games, Christoph Hartmann, tells MCV that BioShock could emulate Star Wars' long-term success if handled properly:
“Some of the mega-franchises we talk about only lasted ten years because companies took five years to ship a game. Look at Duke Nukem. It’s been a great franchise for 20 years, because it seems like it’s been in development for 20 years.
“For Bioshock, because it’s so story driven, the question obviously arises: how long can you do it without turning into The Matrix? The first Matrix was great, the second one was weird and the third one, you thought: ‘Who [making this] is on crack and who isn’t?’. “But, then again, look at Star Wars. It’s a fight between good and evil, just like Bioshock. If we spin it the right way and get the right twist of innovation, we can make six parts of it, as Star Wars did.
“But we have to be careful not to cash in. I won’t name the company, but there was a great racing game years ago. They brought it back year-on-year. If you look at the scores, it’s hard to believe what they’ve done to it. It’s upsetting, actually.”

Re: Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams
If you read into the story it doesn't take place over several years like the SW saga but the time frame will be much shorter. Therefore we shouldn't expect to much difference in what we saw in the first Bioshock in the next. I still see the same type of setting, a so-called 50's look which actually made Bioshock stand out.
