While I completely agree, thats a random statement... What caused you to blurt this out? Play him in a score duel and lose by 100,000 points or something (I know I certainly would)

 methinks Kelkee's comment was supposed to go into the GHIII thread. Thanks for the nice words, though.

This sucked - I could connect to pinata tonight, but not to Corvin or L&O. I have yet to play a set with 3 players on live. It's really fun playing online sets, too.

I don't see how the two of you are confused. His post is in response to the second half of DVDSteve's post.

I guess we both missed it... I guess that solves the problem of the random compliment :)

I did that Infinite Prog Challenge last night (15 tunes, all Rush, Dream Theater, Kansas & Coheed tunes). Man that is a workout on the fingers. I didn't know you could quit out of a Challenge either and save your progress. Nice.

Thank God you can, because I wouldn't be doing any of the infinite challenges otherwise...you did all 15 back to back? Damn. My fingers hurt after about 30 minutes of continuous play, no way I could do 15 songs in a row with some lengthy breaks.

Needless to say I'll never be attempting any of the endless setlists. :p

Yep. All 15 back to back. Definitely a stamina challenge. I managed 73/75 stars thanks to Dream Theater. And both times I was just a hair away from 5 starring them (all on hard).

I learned that the hard way when I got my ass handed to me last week on Panic Attack on hard drums in the last impossible challenge!!! I quit out saying eff this, and when I came back to that tier a few days later, it said "in progress". When I went in, it took me right to that goddamn song.

Funny thing is that just yesterday I was playing online in someone elses band and they did the Rolling Stone set and I breezed through Painkiller on hard drums (after initally being terrified seeing it in the set cause I'd never played it before and didn't really know how the song went and I couldn't get past Panic in the last challenge to play it proper).

Tarantino 10-04-08 11:29 AM

There's a steep ramp for me from hard drums to expert drums. Wowza.

I can 98% Everlong on hard, and got 18% in on expert before failing out.

Yea, I hear you on that. I don't mind doing expert on the easier songs, but I have no desire to do that on the really hard stuff. Then it goes from being fun to just being downright frustrating.

I don't quite have my "skills" built up to where expert can be a challenge without being tedious.

Kotaku is stating that RB:AC/DC will get its own set of achievements.

I want to believe, since it is disc-based. But it is Kotaku.

I thought I read somewhere that Harmonix confirmed that, and that they are the ones that said there will also now be some song specific achievements ( I imagine similar to the Train Kept Rolling 300,000 point one from GH:A)

should be a decent 1,000 point achievement game with only 18 songs...

I met the dude who designs the (in game)guitars for use in Rb1 & 2 today :) He came over to buy my RB1 drumkit, and works for Liquid Development doing art. They also did some Fable 2 stuff. :) Kinda cool.

Mok 10-04-08 09:39 PM

I just won another 160pts in the stride contest. I thought the contest was over.

Michael Corvin 10-04-08 09:50 PM

damn you.

lordwow 10-04-08 09:57 PM

Especially with so many good songs next week

I tried the AC/DC song on expert today during a session. Luckily, I was playing with my parents and had the "no/fail" option on for them...ugh. The song isn't hard on expert, but it's so unrelenting on that yellow pad that my arms just get dead tired. I stopped for whole sections, just because I didn't want to do it anymore.

On a side note, I've now had my parents over twice to play Rock Band, and they freakin' love it. I played drums, my roommate did guitar, my step dad was on bass, and Mom was singin'. They had a blast, and they would never play anything on the 360 prior.

So much fun playing with family, and that "no/fail" option is very, very cool for these kinds of occasions.

Sweet, is that your step-dad? I bet you don't ever piss him off

Downloaded the RHCP album...holy crap I forgot how great it is. I played through twice singing/guitar. Best DLC yet, easily. They sure butchered the hell out of Sir Psycho Sexy wow, luckily I remember some of the nasty parts. But they censored out "tease her" and "deeper" but left in "ass" lol

Emerald Frosion is going for Bladder of Steel today with a 3-piece Expert band. We would go full band, but Visions is still way too much on drums, and we don't want to sacrifice the Platinum Artist by dropping drums down to hard.

We're starting around 10AM, should be done by 4-5PM.

rabbit77 10-05-08 08:33 AM

Worked my way up to level 33 in score duel - I was so close to beating a level 36 in My Sharona if I didn't flub some easy notes early in the song.

On one occasion I went from playing GGaHT against a level 2 to Charlene against a level 29. I love the randomness.

DVDChris 10-05-08 11:31 AM

I'm starting to think the only way I can win a Battle of the Bands event is if Emerald Frosion doesn't enter. :-(

So the fates were against us today.

We were playing at work and there was a power surge that killed the projector bulb. We tried our best to make it through the song (Give It Away), but eventually heard the tell-tale "fail" sound. We tried resetting the projector and could only get it to come on for about 2 minutes before shutting itself off again. About 30 songs down the drain. :(

Might try it again as a band (albeit a 3-piece) next week. I think I'm going to try for BoS by myself tomorrow on vocals only, maybe on Expert. Just have to practice a couple songs that I'm unsure of.
