While I completely agree, thats a random statement... What caused you to blurt this out? Play him in a score duel and lose by 100,000 points or something (I know I certainly would)
 methinks Kelkee's comment was supposed to go into the GHIII thread. Thanks for the nice words, though. This sucked - I could connect to pinata tonight, but not to Corvin or L&O. I have yet to play a set with 3 players on live. It's really fun playing online sets, too. |
I don't see how the two of you are confused. His post is in response to the second half of DVDSteve's post.

I did that Infinite Prog Challenge last night (15 tunes, all Rush, Dream Theater, Kansas & Coheed tunes). Man that is a workout on the fingers. I didn't know you could quit out of a Challenge either and save your progress. Nice.

Needless to say I'll never be attempting any of the endless setlists. :p |

Thank God you can, because I wouldn't be doing any of the infinite challenges otherwise...you did all 15 back to back? Damn. My fingers hurt after about 30 minutes of continuous play, no way I could do 15 songs in a row with some lengthy breaks.
Needless to say I'll never be attempting any of the endless setlists. :p |

Funny thing is that just yesterday I was playing online in someone elses band and they did the Rolling Stone set and I breezed through Painkiller on hard drums (after initally being terrified seeing it in the set cause I'd never played it before and didn't really know how the song went and I couldn't get past Panic in the last challenge to play it proper). |
There's a steep ramp for me from hard drums to expert drums. Wowza.
I can 98% Everlong on hard, and got 18% in on expert before failing out. = J |

Kotaku is stating that RB:AC/DC will get its own set of achievements.
http://kotaku.com/5058978/acdc-rock-...ments-trophies I want to believe, since it is disc-based. But it is Kotaku. |

I met the dude who designs the (in game)guitars for use in Rb1 & 2 today :) He came over to buy my RB1 drumkit, and works for Liquid Development doing art. They also did some Fable 2 stuff. :) Kinda cool.

I just won another 160pts in the stride contest. I thought the contest was over.

damn you.

Especially with so many good songs next week

Yea, I hear you on that. I don't mind doing expert on the easier songs, but I have no desire to do that on the really hard stuff. Then it goes from being fun to just being downright frustrating.
I don't quite have my "skills" built up to where expert can be a challenge without being tedious. On a side note, I've now had my parents over twice to play Rock Band, and they freakin' love it. I played drums, my roommate did guitar, my step dad was on bass, and Mom was singin'. They had a blast, and they would never play anything on the 360 prior. http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...4fcb2cf21c.jpg So much fun playing with family, and that "no/fail" option is very, very cool for these kinds of occasions. = J |
Sweet, is that your step-dad? I bet you don't ever piss him off
Downloaded the RHCP album...holy crap I forgot how great it is. I played through twice singing/guitar. Best DLC yet, easily. They sure butchered the hell out of Sir Psycho Sexy wow, luckily I remember some of the nasty parts. But they censored out "tease her" and "deeper" but left in "ass" lol "I swatted her like no swat team can turned her cherry pie right into jam" |
Your mom is scary looking.

Emerald Frosion is going for Bladder of Steel today with a 3-piece Expert band. We would go full band, but Visions is still way too much on drums, and we don't want to sacrifice the Platinum Artist by dropping drums down to hard.
We're starting around 10AM, should be done by 4-5PM. |
Worked my way up to level 33 in score duel - I was so close to beating a level 36 in My Sharona if I didn't flub some easy notes early in the song.
On one occasion I went from playing GGaHT against a level 2 to Charlene against a level 29. I love the randomness. |
I'm starting to think the only way I can win a Battle of the Bands event is if Emerald Frosion doesn't enter. :-(

We're starting around 10AM, should be done by 4-5PM. We were playing at work and there was a power surge that killed the projector bulb. We tried our best to make it through the song (Give It Away), but eventually heard the tell-tale "fail" sound. We tried resetting the projector and could only get it to come on for about 2 minutes before shutting itself off again. About 30 songs down the drain. :( Might try it again as a band (albeit a 3-piece) next week. I think I'm going to try for BoS by myself tomorrow on vocals only, maybe on Expert. Just have to practice a couple songs that I'm unsure of. |
Note to self: Trying "Panic Attack" on Expert drums as a sight read even with Flair and Rabbit as bandmates == death .
|
Awe you didnt do too bad! I should have been paying more attention to where you were at. Luckily for me sight reading on bass for everything is just a "tad" easier  Also, taking a drink of beer during the bass intro...not such a good idea. I'd gladly play again whenever, I'll be getting back on in a bit.
|
having never seen an expert drum chart on those hardest songs, I gotta say, that's extremely impressive just to stay alive, let alone getting over 90%.
|
At least we gold starred Alive. "Down With the Sickness" and that Mastadon song will be a lot of fun instead of a "WTH was that?!" type thing one or two more plays down the line . Was Mastadon the red devil difficulty we passed or was that another one?
|
Does anyone here use Quickplay all that much? I noticed that I don't have scores for songs I've done numerous times in the various challenges. I don't play quickplay (save for a song here or there) and have scores for other songs I haven't done in quickplay. Seems kinda odd.
Also I've noticed some of the RB1 songs now have album art, while others just have the RB logo. Also odd. I still can't seem to get all four band members on stage when I start with my bassist. I've tried booting band members and making them rejoin, but nothing. I can't seem to find a solution. |
ok - harmonix needs to patch the blank Star Power zones when playing drums. just hit on on Tom Sawyer (album) and it cost me points dammit!

I skimmed through the thread (but not the previous 9) but didn't see an answer to this.
I've played through RB1, and am working my way through RB2. I've got my fair share of DLC. I downloaded the RHCP album over the weekend, the store shows it's purchased, but I can't find it to play anywhere. Am I missing something? I've never had to unlock DLC before.. |
It will be in a couple places. First is quickplay. You can create your own setlist and play them all together. Second is in the Challenges. I haven't bought that one, but I'm pretty sure there will be an album challenge somewhere in there. Just look for the RHCP album art.

well, I just checked the song numbers to see if Harmonix will hit its 500 by years end, and it looks like this:
As of today we've got 247 in DLC, 58 in RB1, and 84 in RB 2. That makes 389. The announced albums plus the Offspring and other singles coming out this week are as follows: 9 10/7 DLC 12 Foo Fighters 10 Jane's Addiction 10 SRV 11 Motley Crue 20 Free tracks 18 AC/DC Donnington That all = 90 (and I'm not counting the songs from the albums already on disc or the No Doubt pack because of the unsure # of songs on it) So 389 + 90 = 479 So we've got 21 more songs to be released (some of which are going to be the No Doubt pack). And with 12 more tuesdays in the year left after 10/7, I'm sure they'll be over 500 by years end. They essentially have 6 Tuesdays of free space for DLC. |

I've had instances where I'd pick something for download on the marketplace and I would go look in my queue and it wouldn't be there, but would be marked that I downloaded it (it's some weird glitch that happens every now and then on my 360). It basically never got downloaded. So I just redownloaded it and made sure that it went into my download queue.

I do find it interesting that searching RB.com brings up over 100 different Coheed & Cambria threads when searching for "Coheed." With that kind of attention on their forums you would think some more DLC would be in the works. ** edit II - found it. I think someone said the rumor may have come from Gamefaq's, but I'm still holding out a glimmer of hope for it. Spoiler:
|
I highly doubt that Coheed pack is coming out. There have been many people who make these "Fake PRs", thinking that they're being cool, and it's just lame.
I don't mind people saying "Hey, this would make an awesome pack", but making it look completely like an existing PR is ass. If this was something legit from HMX, it would be a little more widely talked about. Plus 12 tracks for 16 bucks is a little low, I believe. |
I know, I know, I just can't let it go. As for price, they aren't a huge band like the other artist/albums out there so a hair over $1 per track doesn't sound too far fetched. Plus the way the "press release" reads and the timing, it's all about promoting the big concert at the end of the month. Promotional stuff always seems to be cheaper.
At any rate assuming it's bogus, it seems like it was well thought out. |
