I picked up the bundle today since I can't seem to find the drums anywhere. I am sorely disappointed that there is a standard mic in the bundle. What the fuck is up with that? I thought I was getting the new RB2 mic. Weak sauce. So it's not really a Rock Band 2 Bundle. It's more like 3/4 Rock Band 2 and 1/4 Rock Band 1.

Wow... just wow. :lol: That would be one way for them to cut down on bandwidth. I know I wouldn't waste my time downloading it. As for individual DLC, bring on whatever, I don't care. As long as country is the exception, not the norm.

What the fuck is an RB2 mic? If you're talking about the 3rd party Mad Catz M.I.C. with the buttons, then of course you wouldn't be getting that in the box. That thing is $60 on its own. If there's something other "RB2 mic" that I'm unfamiliar with, then color me curious.

What new RB2 mic? The aftermarket one?

My Rock Band mic has a short in it after just a couple of hours of play. It hisses and drops quite a bit. I guess I'll have to send for a replacement. I' really enjoying RB2 but my one gripe is that for some reason the bass seems to stand out more in each track than it does when you would listen to the track outside of the game. I wish the track would play exactly as it is recorded and not be tinkered with.

I finally got to join another band and be their vocalist! Lot's of fun and not as scary as I thought it'd be. I just need to learn the overdrive strategy to get the biggest multiplyers. I actually did better on some songs than I have in the past.

So if anyone is ever looking for a singer... LOL

Make sure you have bass boost disabled in the audio options too.

That mic actually sucks. I just returned it and got the original logitech one back so we can properly sing again. The madcatz one has a really bad mic pickup on it, and makes you miss a lot of notes.

Thanks, my group was looking into getting one. Now that I know it's MadCatz I kinda figured it would suck.

I gave the Strat a run earlier. I like it better than the original. It'll take some time to get used to though. I thought all the pre-release photos of the guitar had a woodgrain fade on it. Mine's black, did I miss something in the box?

Yep, the one I bought (separate, not bundle) is the sunburst finish.

Apparently there have been reports, like yours, that the bundle has the black finish and the theory is that they are probably reusing the bodies of the old RB1 guitars (RMAs and unused produced perhaps) modified for the upgraded RB2 guitars.

Well that bites. I wonder if I can call and complain to someone.

Maybe it's just the pics but I think it looks really sharp. How does it look in person Music? It's a tad disappointing but the GH:WT guitar will have that same look so I may just stick with the black.

I got the woodgrain-looking one with my bundle.... PS3 bundle that is... and I think it does look pretty sharp. It doesn't look nearly as cheapy-plasticky as I expected. I like the way it looks much better than the RB1 guitar.

My biggest complaint is that because it's not as spongy as the original, I was strumming too goddamn fast on my first set of songs on guitar yesterday. Plus I'm now correctly calibrated to fix a 78ms delay... which just screws me up even more.

Anyway, I really just played drums yesterday with my band (Prince Myshkin) until my kick-drum leg started cramping. That's good times.

Can someone explain how the band tour works in terms of replacement members and such? I created my characters to fill each spot in the band but at one point, my lead singer was playing drums (when I switched to guitar) and the generic "rock" dude was singing Juli. I mean he does look a little feminine, but what's up with that?

Well, here's the way it has worked for me. I set up a character for each of the instruments. If I take, say my guitarist, and use him as drummer, then it will use a random character to play guitar, but the rest of the band will be correct. Basically, if you use one of your subs on a different instrument, that sub is being used, so it uses a random character to play whatever instrument they are supposed to sub for. Hope that made sense.

Bass will always be an issue since you can't just log into Bass guitar on the character screen, it defaults to guitar. So if you pick your bassist character, go into a song and select bass, your guitarist will be generic despite setting it up otherwise.

I'm pretty sure I've gotten around that, by moving my guitarist to sub as bass. I played as my bass character. If I chose to play bass, my guitarist was back on guitar. If I played guitar, then he was on bass. I only did that when I was going to be playing with the other character for a while. If it's just a song or two, I just let it use a random guy for guitar.

Color me impressed.

Rock Band 2 question (problem):

I have played it on 3 separate occasions...first time I unlocked the bus and a few venues. The next time I played it all my progress had been lost and I was back where I had to unlock the van. Bit frustrating, but I figured it was a fluke. When I fired it up this weekend, same thing, all progress had been lost and I was back to the venue to unlock the van. All clothing was reset, stars, etc. However, the overall score hasn't changed. In fact, I seem to be getting the same achievements each time as well.

This has me a bit concerned...I don't want to play a marathon session and then have it reset on me. Anybody else experience this? (I know RB1 autosaved, do I need to manually save at the end of a session?)

But re: Perfekte Welle... has anyone else seen a fill-in lead singer being of the wrong sex before? This was the first time I'd ever noticed it.
