I'm definitely down for a Skid Row pack(no love for Monkey Business?) as well as some Alice Cooper. Makes you wonder if that will be the announcement tomorrow to tie in with the show.
Once it's down to three players -- drums, guitar and bass -- those two groups will back Cooper and Bach at a final showdown taped at Los Angeles' famed Viper Room. I can see this going the way of the way they tried to announce Still Alive with Johnathan Coulton back in February or March. But I love imagining conspiracies and epic announcements. |

Hmmm... Backing two front-men whose efforts are currently absent from the game at a public event in a few weeks. I looked at the Viper Room calendar and this event isn't listed ;) That's because they'll more than likely be recording it sans audience on a Tuesday morning at 10 am. |

Either way, it would be a great way to announce it, live audience or not. |

Can't watch that VH1 video because I'm in Canada (but they'll let me watch all the ad's I can handle...douches). I'm crossing my fingers for a sweet announcement of DLC tomorrow... or at least some sort of hint as to when FOO FIGHTERS - The Colour and the Shape is coming... I'm going to go crazy if that isn't on deck soon. |

That's a terrible selection of songs. That song Snow (Hey Oh) is one of the worst POS I've ever heard in my life. |
^I think it's a great song to HEAR, but it's the WORST. SONG. EVER. to play on Expert Guitar IMO... that riff is torture, and hard as fuck.
|
Snow ((Hey Oh)) is fun as hell to sing though! That's where it really shines!

I have no issues with the guitar part other than it being boring. If i never ever hear it again it will be too soon. |
I would be so excited for some Skid Row.
Then they need to add some Slaughter. I could go for singing Up All Night. |

I'll be happy to play singer for folks on here sometime if you don't mind someone singing on Hard.

OK, so I just bought the license transfer (PS3), and I'm all set for Sunday. One question, do I need to DO anything now that I bought it, or will Rock Band 2 just auto recognize it once I pop that in?

They are all unlocked for quickplay and they show up in World Tour as well. |

Anyone think we'll get the 20 free DLC announced tomorrow?
|
With the PS3 version coming out this weekend, I hope the 20 songs are announced. It's gotta be either this week or next, if they want to put that out before GH:WT hits. I'd say next week is maybe a little too late, as it wouldn't hit the gaming sites right away.
|
I'm hoping for the 20 free announced today for a Tuesday release or announced next week for a Saturday/Sunday release (though it fucks the PS3 users).
With the Wii version pushed back to December, I sure hope they aren't going to wait until then to release it for everyone... |

HMX desperately needs to put official specs and PRs BEFORE reviewers run off at the mouth.
http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/...2-wii-answers/ Let’s say I decide to start stocking up on all these downloadable songs. My Wii is going to fill up pretty fast. What do I do when the internal memory is full? Good question. “Rock Band 2″ on Wii supports streaming from an SD card. When a Wii’s internal memory fills up, “Rock Band 2″ looks for a SD card to download songs to. All of the songs can stream off the card, so there’s no fretting over what is or isn’t actually filling your Wii’s limited memory space. Wait, no song bundles?! Why not? Does that mean we’re not getting full albums, too? Slow down, buddy. The reason Harmonix isn’t producing song packs for “Rock Band 2″ on Wii is because of how Nintendo handles content on their store. Nintendo doesn’t allow multiple versions of the same content, so everything will be sold as singles — including full albums. Essentially, Wii owners will miss out on bundled song savings. This could change if Nintendo’s policy does. ... That sounds reasonable. Here’s a trickier question: “Rock Band” on Wii didn’t have downloadable songs. Will Harmonix have that back catalog at launch? No. However, Harmonix wants entire “Rock Band” downloadable content back catalog online for Wii users. At launch, Harmonix will release 30 “fan favorite” downloadable songs. Harmonix wasn’t able to point out specific songs just yet. From there on out, Harmonix will be releasing the regularly scheduled weekly music, as well as slowly filling up the Wii’s missing songs. |
Good to hear 'officially' that Wii owners won't be screwed in having to swap songs back and forth from SD card to internal memory.
|
But they are getting screwed on everything else. I'd say anyone that's a Wii-only rocker needs to make that jump to the "next-gen", whether that be the PS3 or the 360. I'd say if you're mainly in it for Rock Band, and don't feel the need for a Blu-Ray player, then the 360 is the way to go.
You can pick up an Arcade, an HDMI cable from Monoprice, and a refurb 20GB HDD from MS, and be under $250. Re-buying instruments and stuff will be the kicker, but you may not need the whole bundle depending on what you play and how often. |
Slow down, buddy. The reason Harmonix isn’t producing song packs for “Rock Band 2″ on Wii is because of how Nintendo handles content on their store. Nintendo doesn’t allow multiple versions of the same content, so everything will be sold as singles — including full albums. How does a bundle of songs equate to multiple versions of the same content? Oh wait. They will not offer both album downloads AND singles from that same album. Got it. I dont understand Nintendo's logic here but I got it. Sometimes I wonder Nintendo realizes there is a world outside that little island of theirs. |
