Yeah, I know. I said when the achievements were revealed that I only had 1 of the 7 they listed. If I extrapolate that to 3 out of 20 then I'm looking at 17 songs for $30? $40? I'm ok with this for the right $/song, especially if I can resell the disc after exporting the tracks and getting as many achievements as possible.

I have to admit this is also making consider at least picking up RB2 for 360 and a guitar separately. If I didn't have a couple friends who seem to have a PS3 in their near future, I would definitely buy the full kit for 360.

So speaking theoretically, if I wanted to switch all my RB playing to 360, I'd probably have to buy:

RB2 Special Edition
RB1 disc
$5 for import of RB1 songs
Rebuy DLC for 360

Now, for those of you who have been playing online together, are you still going to be playing a lot of the songs from RB1, or are you just focusing on the new stuff now?

Also, in order to play as an online band, all 4 people have to purchase a DLC song to play it together, correct?

I've got half of the tracks already and only those few I've been meaning to buy... If I can find this somewhere for super cheap or something I may get it just for the achievements and those few songs, otherwise I'll have to skip it since I own too many of the tracks already.

Can't watch that VH1 video because I'm in Canada (but they'll let me watch all the ad's I can handle...douches). I'm crossing my fingers for a sweet announcement of DLC tomorrow... or at least some sort of hint as to when FOO FIGHTERS - The Colour and the Shape is coming... I'm going to go crazy if that isn't on deck soon.

That's a terrible selection of songs. That song Snow (Hey Oh) is one of the worst POS I've ever heard in my life. :eek:

^I think it's a great song to HEAR, but it's the WORST. SONG. EVER. to play on Expert Guitar IMO... that riff is torture, and hard as fuck.

Snow ((Hey Oh)) is fun as hell to sing though! That's where it really shines!

OK, so I just bought the license transfer (PS3), and I'm all set for Sunday. One question, do I need to DO anything now that I bought it, or will Rock Band 2 just auto recognize it once I pop that in?

On the 360 they were recognized by RB2 immediately.

They are all unlocked for quickplay and they show up in World Tour as well.

did you run the export? Assuming you have the most recent update from RB, you need to run the export from RB... "Options" or "community" I think

With the PS3 version coming out this weekend, I hope the 20 songs are announced. It's gotta be either this week or next, if they want to put that out before GH:WT hits. I'd say next week is maybe a little too late, as it wouldn't hit the gaming sites right away.

I'm hoping for the 20 free announced today for a Tuesday release or announced next week for a Saturday/Sunday release (though it fucks the PS3 users).

With the Wii version pushed back to December, I sure hope they aren't going to wait until then to release it for everyone...

So, that's good. Now for the bad.

Good to hear 'officially' that Wii owners won't be screwed in having to swap songs back and forth from SD card to internal memory.

But they are getting screwed on everything else. I'd say anyone that's a Wii-only rocker needs to make that jump to the "next-gen", whether that be the PS3 or the 360. I'd say if you're mainly in it for Rock Band, and don't feel the need for a Blu-Ray player, then the 360 is the way to go.

You can pick up an Arcade, an HDMI cable from Monoprice, and a refurb 20GB HDD from MS, and be under $250. Re-buying instruments and stuff will be the kicker, but you may not need the whole bundle depending on what you play and how often.

Add in some tax and shipping and you're at about $250.

I'll admit that a 20GB drive probably won't last you forever, but you can find deals on the other drives every so often. I've got a 20GB drive on my 2nd 360 and it is primarily used for RB. I've got about 7GB of songs on there (including the export).

Did I miss all the talk and hype about the Motley Crue album that was released? I went a few pages back and didn't see anything. I was stoked to see it up on the marketplace last night. It's one of my favorite albums of all time.

Depending on the download habits, I would never suggest a 20 gb. After having to go through the sell on craigslist premium to buy an Elite, I would plan for the long run.

I don't download anything (music or videos) except for GH/RB dlc and COD maps and I already would have tapped out a 20 gb.

I don't know how that is possible. I have a hefty chunk of DLC (70+ songs), all of the RB1 content ripped, and a few XBLA games (Bionic Commando, Worms, Symphony of the Night and more) and I have over 6 gigs available.

I'll never need more than the 20 gig drive.
