Bluetooth headset help if possible (PS3)

MOD, please move if needed

I just bought a Motorola H550 Bluetooth wireless headset for using with Madden and Tiger 2009. I have it registered and my PS 3 shows that it is working. I have it turned "ON" in the game options and it is showing that it is on/working.

Here's the problem... I can hear other people talking, I can hear myself talking, but nobody that I am playing hears me. I have deleted and re-registered it numerous times an d nothing I do seems to help. The only other possibility I can think of, is that I bought a "bad" headset.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I hear what you're saying.

It's happened to me too with my Scala-500. I'd be playing GTA and I could see the lines denoting that I have a headset connected, and I could hear everyone, but no one can hear me. Additionally, it's happened to me in reverse too. I have no idea why. I've also noticed that my headset doesn't hold the charge as much as it used to since i've been using it for my PS3..

One of the reasons I have waited for the official Sony PS3 headset is problems like this. Many PS3 users have these issues looking at the Playstation forum and it seems many headsets that worked once stopped working correctly with the most recent firmware. I'm not sure there is a current solution.

I hear you... I am definately returning the Motorola, and thinking about buying the Logitech. If Sony had one, I would buy it.

It is just so damn frustrating, everything "shows" me that it is working, but it is not.

Thanks' for the replies guys.

Not sure if you're into that type of game, but Socom is supposed to have a pretty kick ass headset come with it. My current headset isn't working either.

Not a bad idea, I like shooters. Is the game still roughly $60.00?

Did you try pushing the talk or mute button? I'm thinking maybe the ps3 is defaulting it to mute

"Socom thingie"?? You mean the headset?

If so, yes, it's bluetooth

According to the trailer I just downloaded from PSN.

It looks like SOCOM comes with the Official PS3 Bluetooth Headset...

The top of the line mics, like the Motorola stuff has been iffy since one of the OS upgrades starting back in spring 07.

But something you should try first. When you register the mice in accessories>audio devices turn the mic sensitivity all the way up.

I bought a $20 Jabra bt500 and I love it. Works like a charm, long charge life. Free info.
