So, no, you don't need an Elite to upgrade, but you can't just buy whatever you want either.

Wait, MS makes you spend a $/GB for a drive upgrade?

$1.25/gb is the best deal they offer, actually

I know word of that bundle came out way back when the price cut rumors first came out, but I don't think we've heard of anything since, have we?

I haven't seen 60 GB drives out in the wild for individual sale; I wonder if those will actually be out by the end of the year.

All this HD talk, combined with Rock Band 2 has convinced me to purchase a 120 HD off ebay. Got a new elite one for $85. Seems like a good deal if it pans out alright
If anyone has a data migration kit they are willing to send me as a brief loan, I'd certainly appreicate it and would pay for shipping via paypal. PM me if anyone can help out.
I hate that MS didn't make these available for consumers to just buy.

It fucking sucks that I have a brand new Elite sitting here but don't really want to open it until I get my transfer cable in. I faxed it in at the end of last week so hopefully it will come soon.

It's pretty rare that I play an original xbox game. I may just delete the BC data to free up more space.

Is that actually possible? I've never seen that available for deletion on the Memory blade.
