TNA iMPACT! (360/PS3/PS2) - Sept. 9th

I got my eBay copy yesterday and gave it a run through. My favorite part is the button combos you have to hit, during a strong grapple. Least favorite part is jamming the stick during a pin. I just give up at that point. I'm not going to break my controller trying to get out of a pin.
The CAW is pretty useless, which sucks, because thats what I primarily use on Smackdown.
Reversals to me are great, and feel more natural than Smackdown. I could see 2 good players having a spot fest just with reversals.
AI is cheap though, but hey like wrestling in real life, someone can catch a beat down, and then win with one move.
So overall, it will hold my attention until Smackdown. Sting is a long time favorite and the rest of the roster feels new and fresh. Not bad for $40.

Story mode is a pain though. I'm almost done (about 82% complete) and in the heavyweight division. I beat Rhino, Booker T, Sting pretty easily. I was surprised a couple of jobbers were actually giving me a hard time.
I still have to face Joe, Abyss, Nash, Angle, Jarrett.

I played an Ultimate X last night, and that was pretty fun. A lot better than the glitchy ladder matches from Smackdown.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but a nice detail I just noticed: American arenas the audience cheer and yell, but the Japanese clap. Nice.

Finally got a chance to play this last night. Maybe I'm spoiled from No Mercy and Fire Pro, but I thought it was terrible.
The graphics are nice. Very nice. Many of the moves hit hard, and that was nice. The level of detail on the wrestlers and the rings was great for a wrestling game.
The move sets are horribly weak...all three players that I played with had the same move sets. Having to unlock each move through the create-a-wrestler (which is terrible anyway) is a pain in the ass. One finisher per person? WCW vs. nWo Revenge had more than that. The roster is thin.
Overall, I gave it about 30 minutes of play before giving up. Maybe the next version will be better, but I thought this was pretty bad.

This game is retarded who made this. It has some things that are fun but the annoying things that don't make any sense totally ruin it. Like how the "real" TNA guys can beat you with minimal amount of attacks while you have to hit multiple finishers on them . It just feels like you get to a point were you know you are gonna lose no matter what. I'm glad I got this from gamefly I'll have it a day or two accumulate points and then send it back. Plus I didn't think it was possible to hate Don West more but there it is.

I need to get those too, i have no idea how i'm going to get the one where you have to play or know somebody that has played somebody on the tna roster.

I got this today for $12 and don't like it that much. The control scheme, although easy to use, it's glitchy. Repetitive moves and lack of everything has made this a so-so experience. I hope that Midway gets their act straight for the sequel if there is one.
Anyone knows if the PS3 will have the download update?

I got the game when it first came out, I had high hopes for it. Alot of it is flaw but the reversal system, animations are amazing.
Its sure as hell a great buy for $10.

Just in case anyone was wondering about a sequel, WB is interested in acquiring Midway and several of its licenses. Hopefully, this franchise will fulfill its potential.
