More to the point, who bought it based on the lower price, doesn't like it, but refuses to admit it and admit they wasted $10?

I bought it at $10 and will give an honest review later tonight. I liked the old-school Lode Runner but I'm not at all fanatic about it.

After playing it a bit, I'd say very few. This was the very first XBLA game I ever bought without trying the demo first, and only because I felt I might be under the gun with that price. I was a little worried, but it turns out it's a very impressive souped-up port. It takes a little getting used to never jumping (even more so than Bionic Commando) and even more-so to never shoot at your enemies. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty cool. But it's not easy. Three lives won't last me very long at all. Thankfully, you can restart at your last new level with three more lives.

BTW: This price error that was so quickly corrected will make interpreting the sales numbers on 360voice completely impossible. Hope you're happy Pixy! ;)

So because of the Amazon deal I ended up buying Outrun (and pinball FX which I have been waiting to buy) and don't get me wrong I still stuck at this game very much but not as much as I used to suck at it. Is this game easier then the older versions or is it I am just better at racing games.

I think it's pretty much exactly the same as the old Xbox version.

You'll like Pinball FX. It's one of my favorites in the service. Don't forget to get the download tables. Street Fighter II and Rocky & Bullwinkle are awesome and well worth the $2 price. I'm not so crazy about the Haunted House one, though I do like the faux Danny Elfman music on it.

I'm enjoying Lode Runner so far. All I've done is the tutorials and about 10 of the puzzle levels, but, so far, so good!

Well, the Marketplace website certainly helps with that. As long as you have an internet connection at work and the freedom to slack off, you're set!

Once again, a DVD Talk Legend forgets some people live in the Pacific Time Zone.

;)

BTW: It took all day for my Flock! code from Amazon to actually work. I still don't know about this game. It's kinda frustrating, but still sort of entertaining. I'm on the fence, but I've spent $10 on worse in the Arcade. I'm curious to see what the user-designed levels are like.

Don't know if there is a specific Community games thread and I don't know if this has been posted before, but here goes.

A few weeks ago I saw a friend of mine playing 1 vs. 100 in beta. I was jealous and he won't give any more info than what's on the spotlight already (Spring 2009).

I'm guessing E3, but that's completely unfounded.

I have one challenge left on Peggle and it is the "win 10 games in a row on random boards" challenge.

You know a game is good when you get to the 8th or 9th board in a row and lose it and then immediately start it up again. Not many games have gotten into my blood like this one.

But man, this 10 in a row challenge is hurting my pride.

YES. My girl is addicted to Geometry Wars 2.

Mushy stuff spoilered, ignore if annoying:

Spoiler:
We were at dinner together last night and I was going on about training her to beat a friend of ours score. She said it was extremely hot when I was excitedly explaining in an overly stupid geeky technical rant on how to work up her score in Deadline instead of telling me I was crazy. Oh my.

I feel sad that I can't get into Peggle like EVERYBODY else does. Argh. :(

Anyone hear a release date on Marvel vs. Capcom 2? I had no idea this was coming out but now I'm pretty excited.

MadKatz has MvC2 pads and sticks dated for June. Do the math.

Only Wednesdays, though. So you're down to 4.

I hadn't heard about MvC2. Is it gonna be in widescreen or have borders on the side?

It's an arcade game port, so it'll have borders and probably blur/vaseline filters to mutilate the art.

Which are usually optional - and it'll probably have a stretch feature, if you want to mutilate the art that way.

Though I'd give my left nut for an "HD-remix" similar to what they did for Street Fighter.

As much as we'd love to have your left nut, I doubt it's going to be spruced up much. We heard about the SF II remix for like 18 months before it came out.

Battlefield 1942 confiirmed for June. 1200 points for a stripped version of the original but souped up with HD graphics. One of the rare times a game will actually be less than I expected (well, not counting Lode Runner for a couple of hours on Wednesday morning).
