I don't have too big a problem with the price point (1600 pts) if the game is awesome, but if it's a frustrating disappointment then I'll pass. Can't get too strong an impression either way based on the online reviews so any input would be appreciated..
The reviews of the DS version detract me - a huge fan of the original. This one in particular: http://www.destructoid.com/puzzle-qu...a-123821.phtml

Absolutely. I've had fun going through some of the old arcade games with my boy. They're simple but some are still very challenging. Between this and Sonic's UGC, I'm set for retro goodness for some times.

That's the price of Geometry Wars : 400 points = $5. No deal there. Besides Geomertry Wars 2 is SO much deeper and better that it's easily worth the difference in costs.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

I have two already and that is strange amazon lists it as 800 points as far as I could tell that is the only price mistake on there for an arcade game

Did buy. Thanks. Is there a better way to keep up with these deals other than CAG?

I've been waiting for a deal on Pac Man: CE. I might pick up Doom too, just to get that Freshman year of college nostalgia feeling. Would be a definite purchase if Pinata WADs came bundled with it! Maybe future DLC.

VOOT Achievements

No experience with the game, but those seem very easy to me. Nothing like "Win 100 Online Battles" or anything like that.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

I will probably get this at some point but there are other games I want to get because I have been broke lately and this one is not at the top of the list.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

With the introduction of Amazon's (seemingly) frequent deals and Microsoft discounting items with as much as a month's notice randomly, I think I'm going to be buying a lot fewer new release titles going forward.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

Pinata I was just thinking the same thing the other day. I'm sure there are a few things I might be inclined to get early but it would probably be more like MEga Man 9 where it was hyped and is part of a series that I am looking forward too. The only problem with the Amazon deals are if you get live points for cheap then the Amazon deal would negate it.

If you would have told me that the only game out of the "Days of the Arcade" promotion I'd be buying would be Family Game Night, I'd have told you that you're nuts. But that's what has happened. Part of that was how lackluster PQ Galactrix and Flock turned out, but part of it is those discounts that actually discourage early purchases. I'll be VERY wary about buying any DLC besides Rock Band tracks.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

I'll cut back once I spend all of my $5 1600 point cards, but until then, I'll grab whatever looks fun. But the Amazon sales could push me to pick up older titles that I wouldn't otherwise.

Is this the same Outrun form the original Xbox that's backwards-compatible with the 360? That one has a bunch of awesome extra hidden tracks.
