I think I'm going to pass on it too, for now. The reviews of the DS version being the primary reason. Once it drops to 1200 or even 800 points, I might reconsider.

Wolf 3D and Call of Duty coming to XBLA.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

Okay, Wolf 3D out of the way, Doom II rumored..

After those can I please get Heretic and Hexen? PLEASE?!

pinata242 03-26-09 02:15 PM

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

Am I alone in wishing they'd allow keyboard/mouse play for those games? Wolf3D is simple enough that the controller is enough, but once you start getting into Doom, Duke, Heretic, Hexen, Quake, Quake Arena, etc I really think you need to have more responsive, quicker controls.

I didn't think a mouse was needed until they were actually 3D (ie: Quake and beyond).

I didn't start until Quake, but even Doom benefited from the mouse in death match. Sure vertical aiming wasn't necessary, but having quick turning and extra buttons on your steering hand sure helped.

If Halo and Call of Duty have to stick with dual analog, I can't see them breaking rules for Doom clones.

I know, I know. I just wish it! Civilization too, for that matter. It's already a PC, just support the shit and let the games decide what USB devices to enable.

I loved making maps in Rise of the Triad and Doom.

I wonder if my Doom II deathmatch mod, pinata2.wad, is still hanging around somewhere...

Was ROTT the one that had the LSD cheat code?

I was big into playing mods for a few years there. Have floppy disks and EZDrive disks full of wads and mods. Pinata2 sounds familiar actually....

Deal of the week starting 3/30 is Alien Hominid for 400 points.

End of January I got my 360, and literally every game I purchased to go with my 360 has now gone on sale with these deals of the weeks. Braid, Alien Hominid, and Fable (although I did get the Lost Chapters version.) So I assume Castle Crashers, Uno, Pub Games and Street Fighter will all go on sale very soon as well since I've also purchased those.

Indeed. I feel like I got my money's worth out of the first night playing.

I can't wait to try local four player matches.. oh yes.. they will be great.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

Purchase number for Uno Rush on 360voice.com was 789. Not a bomb by any means, but not a hit either. Peggle was 2386 for comparison. Wish I could find Hasbro purchase numbers, but I can't since they have that sillly "free" front end and that's what shows.

I'm still trying to decide between Uno Rush and Yatzee. Leaning towards Yatzee since I can play that with my daughter and Uno Rush will move too fast for her.

I think I bought Crystal Defenders on accident. Or on an impulse. Or drunkenly.
