Eh, I hope there's something else. That title seems like an "also-ran" to me.

If you announce a title for last week, it never appears and yet nobody complains or even notices, that may be the very definition of "also-ran".

I hear that. Believe me, I wanted to try it, I noticed it wasn't there, and I didn't care

I'm guessing this isn't really mahjong but solitaire? I wouldn't mind an actual online mahjong game! Although I'm not sure many people on xbox live would even know how to play.

Banjo-Tooie is coming in April

Interesting note about it:

4J Studios have dredged the Banjo team’s collective memory and implemented the original plan for Stop ‘n’ Swop, for the first time on any platform ever and after many long years of waiting. Without going into too much detail, the Stop ’n’ Swop items collected in Banjo-Kazooie will ‘magically’ appear in Tooie, resulting in... well, you'll just have to find out.

Actually, from looking at the pics on the splash page, it looks like it is real Mahjong, and not the Mahjong Solitaire that most people are familiar with.

That could be fun. I thought it was a port of the solitaire w/ a "story" game that was released on PSN a couple of weeks ago.

Here's more on this.

Twisted Pixel has revealed plans to release three new levels in the coming weeks for its recently released Xbox Live Arcade title, The Maw. Each level will act as a "deleted scene" from the original leash-devouring vision and include one new achievement per level, at a price of 100 ($1.25) each.

In the level Brute Force, Bounty Hunters have sent in members from their new elite strike force, the Brutes, to stop Frank and Maw. In the River Redirect level, Frank and Maw must change the course of a river to surf past a raging fire. Lastly, in The Speeder Lane level, Frank and Maw are required to hijack a Bounty Hunter Speeder GTA-style and crash it through a blockage to progress. Thankfully, the Brute Force level has nothing to do with reviving an old Xbox "classic." Crisis averted.

No release date for the content has been revealed, but Twisted Pixel notes each level will be released on a different day.

For those that have downloaded The Maw, after playing the demo, it seems the game is simply run and around and eat things. Am I missing something or is that really all there is to it (great graphics aside)?

IGN is reporting that R-Type Dimensions is due this month. While it's a great game, I'm more excited that XBLA is getting some much-needed shmup love.

I REALLY wish Puzzle Quest let you know when the game ended. Went through the expansion pack in four days or so. Loved every minute of it. But other than sieging one last city, there's no more quests available. I hate it when the game just... ends. Without a notice that it ended.

Kotaku is reporting that R-Type is this week's release.

http://cache.gawker.com/assets/image...9/02/rtype.png

This Wednesday on Xbox Live Arcade, shoot-em up fans get a healthy dose of redone retro goodness with R-Type Dimensions, repackaging and repolishing the first two games in the R-Type series.

R-Type and R-Type II return this Wednesday in R-Type Dimensions, which takes the classic gameplay of the original shooters and updates them with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from today's advanced downloadable titles. While you can simply amuse yourself playing the classics in their original form, the updated 3D versions look simply amazing, and you can switch between them on the fly at any point during gameplay. Along with the graphical upgrades, Dimensions also adds co-op play both online and off, a stage unlock feature that lets you choose where you want to start shooting once you've completed a stage, and Infinite mode, which loosely translates into Easy mode.

Now how much would you pay? How about 1200 Microsoft points :(? It's a bit of a higher price than I am used to for a remake of an older title, but the extra features could just be worth it.
