I think you just have to light up the the little creek (what I was calling a pond) ... that's where the flower appears.

Thanks!

I guess I only found the secret leaves in flower #4, since that's the only one fully blossomed.
If you replay a flower, does it remembers the secret leaves you already have?

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I may be the only one excited about this, but Red Baron Returns is finally coming out today on PSN. It will also have a demo.

Edit: After playing the demo and reading the IGN review forget about this one.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Just a vent: I wish PSN had more board games. Doesn't Xbox have Carcassonne? I would love it. Outside of PJM, I feel like there aren't that many "puzzle" games on PSN at all?

Any recommendations for PSN or disc-based games?

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Posted this over in the XBLA thread, but I download the Flock demo last night from Qore and wanted to post my thoughts.

From the videos, I thought Flock looked cool and potentially fun, but ultimately it did nothing for me. Granted things could change from the demo I played to the actual release, but one of the biggest frustrations is the fact that you can't rotate the camera. You're locked into one perspective.

It's also fairly slow moving, which is frustrating. It would be good if the slowmoving was a result of thinking or strategy, but rather the slow-moving is simply a result of the controls being unforgiving and having to slowly move your sheep/pigs/cattle and whatever else to the ship. (Which reminds me, there was one sort of "pinball" board. That was fun because it sped everything up and provided a real obstacle rather than "make sure they don't fall off the cliff.")

However, I will say the one fun thing I had with the game was the build your own level. The game then went from saving animals to putting them through whatever tortures I could. I will also say the graphics and sounds are great, but the gameplay is just meh. I'm sure some people will love it, but it will not be an instant purchase for me.

Yes, it is.

Chess, how is the R&C game? Worth the $10?

It's very good, but pretty short. If you like R&C, it's easily worth $10.

Would you ever replay it? If you ever wanted some R&C goodness, would you play this again, or would fire up your ToD disc?

I didn't get a chance to check it out last night. My very little game time went to LBP (as usual).

I do get a "different" vibe from the game based on the trailer. They really seem to play up the pirate/swashbuckling angle. Anyway, I just love Ratchet and Clank (my favorite PS2 games), so I'm in for $10 ($15 felt a bit high though).

I enjoyed it, but I would never replay it like I would the R&C that's on disc. The download game is different enough from ToD that it's more of a platformer, with no Clank to help you out, less shooting and a lot of annoying dark areas, etc. It's fun to play through once, but no more than that - $10 is a stretch, but if it's on sale for $5, that'd be a no-brainer.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Thanks for all the input. I think I'll wait unless my gf really wants to get it. Even though if normal price is $15 I doubt it'll ever drop to $5. Maybe when the next game comes out later this year it'll drop or be free (like what they did with the Resistance 1 DLC.)

Not a chance. You won't see this any cheaper anytime soon. If you're interested, I say buy it.

Don't be like me with Pixeljunk Monsters, which I passed up for $5.

Did anybody get Burn Zombie Burn? I'm not sure if I want to buy it ... I wish they'd released a demo.

I'm thinking about getting Worms. I've been a fan of the series for quite some time.

I'm a fair bit beyond that, but I wasn't liking it much at that point. The new wrench ability feels a bit off to me, and it feels like I fight with the camera a bit more than I did in the PS2 engine. That said, it gets much better, and you'll see some cool use of lighting very soon along with some puzzles that I thought were more fun.

I always nitpick, so please don't take the above as a "bad" review. I will absolutely get my $10 worth out of this game. I'm not sure I'd pay $15 for it though...which is why I didn't I s'pose.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I ended up getting R&C. Sadly, I can't resist a sale.

Just finished the turbine part and so far have been really enjoying. Glad to hear it gets even better.

As an addendum, I'm a little concerned after reading a Joystiq blog from GDC regarding the new R&C game coming out this fall. They make it sound like it might be another downloadable episode like this, which makes me wonder if there's going to be a full disc release of all the episodes at some point. Alas. At least until then, I'm enjoying what I got.

I'm OK with episodic content as long as the price is right. If I get 2 episodes for $20, that's not bad, and I think I like the idea of R&C in bite-size portions.

God, that would be a terrible idea. It's not even that this episode is less than one-third the size of a full game, but that everything about it is half-assed compared to a full game - you get one measly planet (with, IMO, shoddy level design), no real new weapons or power ups, a stop-gap as far as story is concerned and more (or in this case, less). I'd rather pay the full $60 and get a full game that will offer 4x more content (with the option of renting or selling back if you buy) than episodic content any day of the week. To even suggest otherwise is madness.

Madness?

I actually agree with all of your points. I'm just saying it's not the end of the world.

I also think that R&C games are at a point where they are starting to feel a bit "samey", and a little variation from the formula isn't so bad. I'm also not sure how much I like the new engine. R&C 2 and 3 on the PS2 felt better to me than Future...plus Future felt rushed. Gorgeous...but rushed in terms of content.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Anyone playing Red Barron? I'm having some problems figuring out how to do the bomber escort mission (can't recall what it is called off hand, it's the 5th or 6th one)... It seems like within a minute after starting the level all the bombers are killed off and I lose the mission. Am I supposed to be shooting the targets on the ground w/ the markers or the trucks that are driving around? Is there something in the air I'm supposed to shoot down? I'm just missing something (probably pretty basic/obvious too ) and would appreciate a pointer.

TIA
