I knew i shouldn't have let the low price lull me into another JRPG. I despise games that don't let me save when i want. Are the save points at least scattered generously enough that you can quit within 10 minutes of wanting to quit? |
Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?
I don't remember the saves being that far apart..but then again...I loved the game so it flew by...but I don't remember ever being an hour between saves...
You will be spending more time talking and wishing for a save then in battles and wishing for a save I would guess... |
Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?
JRPGs are notorious for irritating save systems. But, yeah Tales does have the overworld save anywhere at least. However, there will be dungeons, about 20-30 minutes long. Also, the final dungeon had an hour between saves at one point I think.
As for your original question, if I had to put a time on it I would say 15 minutes for the first save. |
Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?
1 hour?
From what i remember, on the last dungeon it was about 2-3 hours between saves for me. |
Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?
How long does it take to beat this game?
|
Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?
There's an achievement for doing it in less than 15 hours, so use that to guage it ;)
It's fucking LOOONG, but mostly story. I think I put 130+ hours in 3 runs. |

Make sure you're mapping Artes to the right thumbstick (iirc). You can chain some amazing combos and just wreck havoc!

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?
I was playing this for a while, but took a break to play some other stuff. I need to get back to it.
So ... if I've made it to the part where: Spoiler:
What percentage (roughly speaking) am I into the game? |
Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?
7.2%

Ha, I'm pretty sure my Tales of Symphonia time as more than 70 or so and I also lost steam maybe just before the end.

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?
Wanted the game seemed longer to me than Tales of Vesperia...and that took maybe 4 hours.

The name Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Premium Edition is a bit of a mouthful, but the collection itself is pretty — if you're in the EU. The Premium Edition contains the game, a 4 CD soundtrack, an art book, a collectible card set, some Chibi stickers and a set of pins. This is all wrapped in a Repede metal case, which itself is encased in a fancy outer cardboard box. You can pre-order the fancy Premium Edition now from your local version of Bandai Namco's website — https://static.truetrophies.com/customimages/052848.jpg In the States, however, it appears that the $99.99 "Anniversary Bundle" isn't quite so spectacular. The Repede case is intact as is the art book, but instead of the rest of the items Americans will have to make do with a set of three character keychains and a "diorama display case" which, if we're reading this image correctly, is a folded piece of cardboard: https://static.truetrophies.com/customimages/052849.jpg https://www.truetrophies.com/n16016/...-available-now |

I was reading back through the thread from 9 years ago and I have no idea what any of it means anymore.

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?
So I never finished
Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata or Oblivion. I restarted Skyrim after having given up on that (mostly due to load times). Tales of Vesperia Definitive digital edition is 10 bucks on Xbox store now and darn if I'm not tempted by it. I tried the demo and I got overwhelmed but it seemed like it dropped you in more advanced than the game actually starts? How twitchy is the combat? I prefer turn based, I know this isn't, but I'm not averse to some ARPGs. I didn't like the 'press X on command' in CrisTales because it seemed like that was ESSENTIAL for victory, and as great as the art was, it was really hard for me to judge the right moment to react. |
