I seen bunch of Youtube videos but none of them seem to help me at all. Anyone, who beaten the game have any tips on getting this Archievement cause it's driving me nuts.

Check that youtube video... :D

No, it sucks. It's, by far, the worst thing you have to do for a title & achievements. I remember when it finally connected for me how ecstatic I was.

As I recall, he would pause longer and longer after each time he used his Mystic Arte. I think the magic number for me was 3. So you'll need to heal up, and I think you'll need to use yours to trigger his (and probably need Limit Bottles).

If all else fails, you can try setting your team to defend/heal and equip a Min Damage skill to keep him alive while you wail on him to increase your Limit meter and use your MA.

But if you do that you'll want to make sure you have the item that allows you to switch your controlled character to Yuri or someone that you can control well that DOESN'T have the Min Damage skill set to finish him off.

Wow you guys are hardcore! I remember I would randomly get those secret achievements but I never really worried about what I'd done to get them.

Well I finally got the Secret Mission on defeating Yeager. The problem was I had Rainsong instead of Rain on Raven's artes, so I fought some few enemies spamming Rainsong till he learned the Rain artes. Then I set the game on easy, fight Yeager in his first form with regular attack and when he goes into his second form I control Raven and had everybody attack and then use O.L. and keep spamming Rain at him until I got the Secret Mission Archievement. What a pain, good news now that I unlock this hard Archievement, I don't have to worry about it when playing in new game plus.

True...I got I think 700 achievements for this game without really trying. A few of those secret achievements would pop up on their own so I looked a few up, and most are REALLY annoying.

I just got this game today and played about 5-10 minutes and wasn't able to save. At what point will the game let me save my game?

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

I want to say the first time you can save is when you
Spoiler:
 GET THROWN IN PRISON!

Who woulda thunk that would happen in an RPG? It's not too far into the story, but you've gotta shake those newbie cobwebs that accompany every game like this so that you get your bearings and have a clue how to move around and progress.

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

 What a plot twist!? I can't believe i clicked the spoiler. :(

So i assume this game will let me save anywhere? Since it is in the main menu it appears that way. I will be pretty bummed if it isn't the case.

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

On the world map, yes. In cities/dungeons, no... there are certain save points. In fact, there's an achievement for saving at all the save points

Son of a...

I knew i shouldn't have let the low price lull me into another JRPG. I despise games that don't let me save when i want.

Are the save points at least scattered generously enough that you can quit within 10 minutes of wanting to quit?

Some of the dungeons are but i'd say 90 % of the time it'll take at least an hour to reach the next save point. The good thing is you can avoid battles so if you need to save, you can always rush through to the save point.

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

I don't remember the saves being that far apart..but then again...I loved the game so it flew by...but I don't remember ever being an hour between saves...

You will be spending more time talking and wishing for a save then in battles and wishing for a save I would guess...

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

JRPGs are notorious for irritating save systems. But, yeah Tales does have the overworld save anywhere at least. However, there will be dungeons, about 20-30 minutes long. Also, the final dungeon had an hour between saves at one point I think.

As for your original question, if I had to put a time on it I would say 15 minutes for the first save.

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

1 hour?
From what i remember, on the last dungeon it was about 2-3 hours between saves for me.

How long does it take to beat this game?

pinata242 12-02-09 12:41 PM

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

There's an achievement for doing it in less than 15 hours, so use that to guage it ;)

It's fucking LOOONG, but mostly story. I think I put 130+ hours in 3 runs.

Make sure you're mapping Artes to the right thumbstick (iirc). You can chain some amazing combos and just wreck havoc!

I was playing this for a while, but took a break to play some other stuff. I need to get back to it.

So ... if I've made it to the part where:

Spoiler:
I just got to the city where you have to sail the ship to get there and the chick from the trade guild said I could keep the ship

What percentage (roughly speaking) am I into the game?

pinata242 12-02-09 07:23 PM

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

7.2%

Have you played any of the other Tales games? I sunk over 50 hours into Symphonia before I lost steam and quit (I think I had about 15 more hours to go). I tend to do a lot of side quests, so that may have added to my time.

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

Ha, I'm pretty sure my Tales of Symphonia time as more than 70 or so and I also lost steam maybe just before the end.

Wanted the game seemed longer to me than Tales of Vesperia...and that took maybe 4 hours.

The name Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Premium Edition is a bit of a mouthful, but the collection itself is pretty — if you're in the EU. The Premium Edition contains the game, a 4 CD soundtrack, an art book, a collectible card set, some Chibi stickers and a set of pins. This is all wrapped in a Repede metal case, which itself is encased in a fancy outer cardboard box.

You can pre-order the fancy Premium Edition now from your local version of Bandai Namco's website —

In the States, however, it appears that the $99.99 "Anniversary Bundle" isn't quite so spectacular. The Repede case is intact as is the art book, but instead of the rest of the items Americans will have to make do with a set of three character keychains and a "diorama display case" which, if we're reading this image correctly, is a folded piece of cardboard:

Re: Tales of Vesperia (360) - Who's in?

So I never finished
Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata or Oblivion.

I restarted Skyrim after having given up on that (mostly due to load times).

Tales of Vesperia Definitive digital edition is 10 bucks on Xbox store now and darn if I'm not tempted by it.
I tried the demo and I got overwhelmed but it seemed like it dropped you in more advanced than the game actually starts?
How twitchy is the combat? I prefer turn based, I know this isn't, but I'm not averse to some ARPGs. I didn't like the 'press X on command' in CrisTales because it seemed like that was ESSENTIAL for victory, and as great as the art was, it was really hard for me to judge the right moment to react.
