Same Game for different consoles question?

I am tring to debate that soon I will own both a wii and a ps3. But I look online and I see this

The Simpsons Game - available for the Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3? Which is the better system console to get the game on or are they the same

Also WWE Raw vs Smackdown 2008 - Wii and Playstation 3? Any difference?

Here is something why is Spider-Man 3 available for the Wii,PS2 and PS3?

Does the quality/sound suffer if picking the wrong version? Are they all just about the same. When you come to a bump in the road and have the same game for Wii and PS3 which is the better system to play the game on?

I think it all depends on the type of game involved. Like Lego Indiana Jones. It doesnt really need the top of the line graphics.

WWE Raw vs Smackdown would probably benefit being on the ps3. I saw a review for another wrestling game for the wii that was watered down on the wii.

a lot of times the games are COMPLETELY different on the Wii from the PS3 or 360. Spiderman 3 I think is a completely different game.

Smackdown vs. Raw on the Wii is a joke.

It's a very stripped down version that doesn't even compare to the PS2 version.

I would recommend reading various reviews of each game on each platform. Sites like Gamespot do a decent job of head-to-head comparisons.

However, as stated above, the Wii is a unique beast and often times the game is changed noticeably from its powerhouse, traditionally-controlled competitors.

You need to realize going into it that the Wii will not compete with the PS3 graphically or audibly or online-ly. Also, the Wii version of a game may have "Wiimote" functionality added to it that may enhance or befuddle the experience.

Why not just post this in your existing Wii vs. PS3 thread?

I thought you were only buying one system right now? Doesn't that, in itself, solve this problem? Call me Mr. Obvious if you will but if you buy a Wii then you will buy the Wii version of the game. If you pick up the PS3 then you go for that version. Check reviews and rent games if you are unsure and want to wait.

The Simpsons game for the Wii is not supposed to be good compared to versions for other consoles. Based on reviews, I returned the copy I got for Christmas and will wait until the PS3 version becomes a Greatest Hits title.

If graphics are the reason for the game, always go PS3. However with games like Indiana Jones and Harry Potter where the Wii controller does special unique stuff, get the Wii version.
