I still don't get the hype for this game. What do you do, build levels, and that's it?

It's your standard platforming game (50 levels or so) with great physics and steallar visuals. It's got what looks to be good multiplayer, and comes with, apparently, a very solid level editor -- with PSN allowing level submissions.

I'm not completely sold myself as the levels look a little easy, we'll see.

Think of it as a very deep Mario platformer (with over 50 levels comprising a complete single player game) which also happens to include a very thorough level-editor - and you'll be able to download other people's creations for free.

I wonder how many weird/crazy/dirty levels are gonna be submitted? Will Sony remove them?

They're committed to removing them. But I'm not sure how the system will be implemented - if even one person downloads a level, it'll be out there and able for resubmission even if the original gets pulled. I'm sure there will be sites message board postings that will point out some great or dirty new levels and you'll probably have to act fast to download before they get pulled.

That is exactly what I think will happen with the Guitar Hero user created tunes. You might be able to find a great cover tune briefly before it gets yanked.

There will be a reporting system. One or two complaints won't do it, but if there is enough, the level gets yanked. PTOM covered that a few issues back. Loved that Halo level. Can you insert your own music like that? I wasn't aware of that before.

I'm guessing they'll also have a method of removing it from your system as well.

it's been toast for the last hour. The announcement of "sign up now" went up at 3:15 pacific.

This is all total b.s. so far. I've tried and tried through all these different sites, and I haven't had any luck whatsoever. I've gotta give up for the time being, I just don't have the time to jump through all these hoops. I've signed up, and that's pretty much all I can do at this point. Heck, this is so irritating that it's actually causing me to lose interest in the game itself.

If any of you guys get an extra one, I'd really appreciate a beta key code if you want to shoot one my way.

Well, I was number 550 roughly on the lbp website. It seems that a lot of people were locked out. For some reason though when I went to check around 7est I got on right away and got in. So I should definitely be getting one through them.

If I end up getting an extra code from ign or gamepro or wherever, it'll be yours Brent.
