I can just put the disc in and start playing a console game instead of it trying to install the game!!!! And it takes more than 5 mins to install!!

I know, people get all hot and bothered by the prospect of downloading some updates, expansions, content, etc. I understand the issue that it is a pain in the ass, and when you sit down to play a game you want to play it then. All of a sudden you find yourself waiting 5-10 minutes, which in this situation feels like a fucking eternity. However, I would much rather go through the monthly updates, downloads, installations, etc. than go without them and lose out on available content.

It's not just the installs, it's the mandatory updates too. Luckily, the downloads have been pretty small on consoles so far, but they're getting to be more like PCs with the patches and installs.
I bought PAIN the other day, and had to download the game, install it, then download like 5 patches... no option to do anything else. Metal Gear Solid 4 took a long, long time to install, and it wasn't optional. Using the Hard drive as a crutch for slow Blu Ray loading times is a little ridiculous.

And it affects more when you get older, get more responsibilities, don't have too much time to play.
Sometimes you only want to play for 10-30 mins and if you spend half that time installing/patching/upgrading your game then the fun goes away.

I love that we get to bitch no matter what.
1) Game was delayed to work out bugs? FUCK THAT!
2) Game was released but might need patches or updates. FUCK THAT!
3) Hardware is too slow to keep up with loading? FUCK THAT!
4) Devs recognized hardware is too slow and game pre-caches? FUCK THAT!

Sorry for the vague title. ><
Well, when you are excited to try out a game, you put the disc in and next thing you know, it has to be installed!!! Argggh!!!
