Since pixy ran away should i post something along the lines of complaining about everyone looking forward to sequels?

I want some news on the next Knights of the Old Republic.

Chronicles of Riddick
Rock Band 2 setlist
Live Arcade titles

I'm also very curious about some good DS titles.

It's funny that many people here bag on EA or Nintendo for reusing old characters, or milking franchises, yet what are 99% of people here looking for at E3? Sequels to their favorite characters and franchises.

It's like the Rock Band DLC arguments every week. People excuse sequels or music that they like and bitch about any series they don't like or misses their specific genre of taste.

EA is slightly different in that i think valid complaints can be made over their Madden franchise and the accusations of basically charging for roster updates. Owning the NFL license for several years exacerbates that feeling among fans.

Although i do think some previews of the next Madden have shown them to be advancing the franchise and not just resting on their laurels/IP.

But for the most part i think the first part of my post is the case. If someone likes a series they clamor for a sequel, if they don't like the series they bitch about the company only doing sequels.

Eh... I think it is much simpler than that. It is a whole lot easier to get excited about a franchise you know than an untested IP. There are of course exceptions, see Bioshock, but for the most part the tried and true are where the excitement lay since you know the characters, you know the genre and you know pretty much how the game will play.

Pixy hasn't posted but as someone looking forward to BG&E2 he can't have it both ways.

I'm sure he likes sequels too, as long as they're made by Square Enix or have the words "Shiren" or "Dungeon" in them.

I am looking forward to Rock Band 2 news, more details on Little Big Planet, some surprises from Nintendo, Infamous (new open-world game from the makers of Sly Cooper), and further information on Too Human and Fable 2.

3: Little Big Planet
4: Kingdom Hearts 3
5: Fable 2
6: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

And I'd LOVE any info on another Jak & Daxter game or (even better) another Sly Cooper (but with Sucker Punch working on inFamous, I doubt that's even in the planning stage). I imagine the next R&C game will be in late 2009 as well.

I don't get too worked up over upcoming XBLA games -- since you have no idea when they're coming, it's like getting excited for nothing.

And ANY sign of life on the PSP front would be appreciated. It's like there was this great run of PSP games in early 08 (Patapon, GoW Chains of Olympus, FF VII Crisis Core) and then ..... nothing.

Isn't it hard to get excited over new IPs that we don't know exist? Typically all I know about are sequels anyway. It's rare that I'll hear about a big, new exciting IP ahead of time.

And those you do know about are usually infamous for having already been announced at previous E3s or trade shows. Too Human? Little Big Planet? Sadness?

I was thinking the same thing.

One thing I'd like to see that no has mentioned is some sneak peeks at the DLC for GTA IV.

Oh and more Mortal Kombat vs. D.C. please.

But people still are getting excited over sequels. If there is nothing wrong with sequels of franchise yous love, I shouldn't hear you (you is used in the general sense) bash Nintendo for their next Mario Tennis iteration.

You won't hear me bitching. You and I played in the Strikers tournament, remember? I know you didn't mean me specifically anyway. I get your point.

I used to love Nintendo. Now they're just my ex-girlfriend that is still open to the occasional booty call if necessary.

I forgot Fable 2 which is another big one for MS. Their slate is full, I doubt they do much to detract from it.

Hopefully we get some redesigned dashboard news though. Please get rid of the ads in my Gold service.

Actually i don't mind the ads in my Marketplace blade - that is their territory.

I would like the ads to not cover the theme i paid for though.

1.5 hours until the Microsoft Conference kicks off. I'll be watching it live via Gamespot (hopefully).

Anybody else going to be watching realtime? If so, post your links for the benefit of all.

I'll be watching the G4 coverage (or as much of it I can stomach) when I get home tonight. They are also doing I believe 4 hours of coverage between the Nintendo/Sony conferences tomorrow as well as their normal 3 or so hours each day of regular E3 coverage. Of course you will be able to fast forward through at least half of their coverage and not miss a single thing.

Well, I hope the PS3 kept FF Versus XIII locked up, otherwise there goes their last big hope.

I don't think Versus was announced for 360 also, just the main FFXIII game.

I think they'd be stupid to only bring the main game, unless they were blocked by Sony.

I sure hope I see something about Kingdom Hearts 3 tomorrow at Nintendo's or Sony's PC.
