I wish they would fix profile views in diablo so you can see what peoples real dps and toughness are.
My main monk, hardcore 245,000 dps 2.5 million toughness 6000 healing 30% element bonus to my main attacks 115% bonus poisons explosions with each attack from my helm 110% bonus electric damage to any enemy trying to hit me from belt 200% bonus damage to enemies trying to hit me from mantra of retribution I am feeling like a badass....then I watched a video of some level 70 people.. 5 million dps 14 million toughness took them 3 minutes to kill one elite mob on torm 1....something that would take me 15 seconds on torm 2... :( all my gear will be garbage in one night of play. |

ehhh, I wish i could remember exactly which level of keep it was. i think #2. It was in a little room at the bottom left of the map. you can't go any further down or left when you get there. It has a journal in it as well. It wasn't a resplendent chest just a small regular one.

Lots of time that i think i am awesome at the game with awesome gear...i go to the official d3 forums. and i am brought back to earth quickly. I am happy about the auction houses being gone because I have a chance to get some godly gear. I don't have to compete with gamers who just have big wallets and buy the stuff...i have the same chance they do. |

I wonder how long the Act is supposed to be? for $40 it better damn well be longer than Act 4.

Word on the street is that Act 5 is about as long as Act 2.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
Finally got my first hardcore 60, a Monk. The items that dropped pre-60 are just as good (relatively) as the ones that drop for my level 60 characters. I still took it easy though, and only played on Hard.
I had 200 DPS weapons in the mid 40's, ~350 DPS weapons at 51, and 550 DPS weapons at 55. Never would have had these before the patch unless I was lucky enough to find (or buy) a weapon with a reduced level requirement. |

Since the game runs so smooth after this latest patch, I may finally try my hand with a hardcore toon. Before, I am certain I would have died from something out of my control which would drive me mad. |

I've been rocking my level 60/13 WD on expert and doing pretty good. Trying to decide if I want to start a wizard before the expansion comes out.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
start your hardcore characters! Anyone wants help just pm....I may have it set to do not disturb but I am not the kind of person that gets angry when people ask for help. Right now with the bonus xp, it takes only 1 play to get to level 60....
Tips for Hardcore.. 1: Play with someone you know. Disconnects still happen, but if you have someone with you they can save your life 2: Try to have at least one item or skill with some sort of kick-back attack. If you are disconnected, this will keep you attacking people while you stand there and might save your life.. 3: Goes with 2, but have life on kill and life regen. Everyone laughs at these two, but combined you will only die on elites with nasty arcane type combos if you are disconnected. 4: Make sure you follow the 10/1 rule on damage toughness. Once you get to level 60 pick a level of difficulty that lets you take out elites in about 20 seconds tops...whatever damage you have to do that, make sure your toughness is 10 times your damage. 100,000 sheet dps? Try to have 1 mill toughness. 5: If you are playing a wizard or DH, do your best to have at least one monk/barb on the team. No matter how good you are, or how safe, when you play hardcore you are going to have a moment where you almost die. These moments are so rewarding I can't even tell you. The drop rate is so good right now you will easily build a solid character that can survive Torm 1. My monk doubled his damage and tripled his toughness since the patch, all with drops and crafts from the game. Anyone wanting to try out hardcore, if you see me online send me a pm. I will gladly help. I have some friends I made over the last two years, but a lot of people playing like to rush to much, which I don't like to do. I had to set me game to do not disturb, because of few of them always want to play, then they take off with 35% movements speed and never stop....even when I am in town. |
re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I just want to say that foxdvd is very helpful, he has helped me out and given me advice on my monk on numerous occasions. He has taken the time to come into my game, explain his spec, and run around killing packs with me help me get a feel for some new monk play styles. This is time that he could have been boosting his paragon levels, but instead was helping me by playing at my own pace. He has definitely gone above and beyond and after his advice I have a much better understanding of the potential of my monk after the class overhaul and major game play changes. After taking his advice and tweaking my spec I am now soloing Torment 1 with my monk with very little difficulty, and this is hardcore mode.
I also want to reiterate that hardcore mode is the only way to play this game. When you come up against a tough pack and survive it is more rewarding than anything in the game. You have to think more carefully about your gear and spec, and you learn how to survive tough encounters. When I used to play standard mode I would die all the time from standing in fire, just general recklessness. But after playing hardcore mode I can go back to standard and basically never die because my play style is much more cautious. You learn to kite and always have an escape if necessary. The thing is, I never touch my standard characters anymore because hardcore mode is so much more satisfying. I highly recommend everybody try it out. |
re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
With the boost, I got "every" character type to 60 in hardcore, oddly with only 1 disconnect. It worried me, but my monk survived :).
I put every in quotes because a couple days ago, I had the barbarian at 58.5, crossing the bridge in act 3, set on expert, which I found lets me get to level 59 for finishing act 3 (so I still get the legendary), and then 60 for diablo. No problem with anything. I went in one of the store room things on the bridge, saw an arcane/fast/molten pack, wasn't too worried. Turns out the yellow guy in the back of the pack who I didn't see was a frozen type. I didn't see the ground effects because of the small quarters on stairs, grouped minions, and molten effects. they spawned all their arcane orbs right on top of me and as soon as I started to move, a chain of frozen all went off. Couldn't do a thing. Templar was wearing a legendary, I had all of my "big" red gems equipped, quite a loss. I would say "blah", but the risk is what makes it more fun than normal! Also, is anyone using the DVDTalk community? I never see anyone online in there. |
re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I am on the DVDTalk community. You have to remember to manually join the chat each time you log in, which is a bit of hassle.
Regarding hardcore, I would avoid it for the first week or so after RoS releases. The heavy server load is sure to cause unexpected lag spikes and disconnects. |
re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I will probably use a standard character for my first run through RoS just to learn the content. Once I've done that, back to hardcore all the way.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
They upped the xp to 100% bonus this weekend...
and I got my wings!!! http://i.imgur.com/uNsfEcw.jpg |
re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
Nice! Hopefully I got my wings too! 100% exp. ...awesome

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
How'd you get the wings? I wish they would announce the 360 release of RoS.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I played a bit today and the game feels so different from it was a year ago when I stopped playing just after the Paragon levels was introduced. Ran around for 30 minutes and got a legendary, probably the same number I got in 40+ hours when the game first came out. Brilliant!
