I never had top gear to begin with as I never did a lot of farming, so the new patch has been pretty great for me. In the limited time I've played all of my characters have had several upgrades, including a few legendaries. The smart drops are a vast improvement.

Farming didn't matter...top gear came from the auction house. In 350 hours I never found a godly piece of gear....all from the auction house. |

the optimization is damn unreal, I have to say again. I am in awe at how well the game runs on my crappy laptop. Just playing with Vballboy51 last night with him and his wizard casting spells all over the place....no stutter or slowdown at all. I can't believe it.

yeah, my barb is useless now. god, to think of all the freaking gold i used in the auction house to make him. I was doing Monster Power 10 before this latest patch....now I am running for my life. We were Torment 3 last night? My only other 60 is my Demon Hunter....not sure how much they were gimped this time around. |

i would just get in the middle of a mob with my skorn and "rend" like a mofo. I was very difficult to kill. I cannot stay alive long or keep fury up now. I have no problem with balancing the classes and nerfing some things, but Blizz really slapped the sh1t out of barbs. So are wizards considered the top class now? monks? |

life on hit is still amazing...
Life steal is gone... Barbs are not near as good as they use to be... I am hearing Demon Hunters are good, but I have yet to see it myself... Wizards are beastly right now Monks are beastly... Witch Doctors seem about the same... Monks/Barbs really have been pushed toward life regen based on spirit/fury spent, and if you stack it you can easily replace 30,000 life with one spirit/fury spender.... |

Might be a stupid question, but did they weaken the barb on just the PC version? I'm about to start this game and the barb is the character I wanted to go with. However, I'm playing on the 360, but I know they could have changed it up too with an update. I'll probably play mostly solo first time through so don't want to get my tail handed to me late in the game when things get tougher.

Well i completed the game on Normal and now going through it again on Nightmare - Master 1. Jeez it has kicked it up a notch. I am a level 37 and even a single zombie takes some killing. I have tried different sets of Skills but not sure what is working best. I have also played around with the different items (trying to get decent armor i.e. legendary, with the highest XP possible where i can).
Any recommendations? |

well,
while I love the fact that my puny laptop can run this game perfectly now, that doesn't cover up the fact that my very expensive and fun Barb is useless now. I was kind of "well things change, I am going to roll with the punches", that mentality has worn off. I want my barbarian back. That is the class I played all the time when I did play and now it is painful to play the class. I am 50,000 DPS weaker, my expensive life steal gear is useless, I can't sustain fury now, can't survive worth a shit in Torment. I am used to being viable in Monster Power 10, now I am nothing. I know what you will say...just roll a new class. I have a level 60 Demon Hunter which I have played the hell out of, but last night I was bored with her. Since I played 100% Barb in the past, I sold off alot of her good gear to get better gear for my Barb. You know, the gear I have now for my barb that is useless. I spent some real money on my barb but not alot by any stretch. I mainly had some good auction house "flips". I bought a godly Eternal Reign chest for $3.00 and flipped it for 400 million gold. That was mainly what i used to upgrade him. Yes, I am whining a bit, but it is what it is. I understand balancing the classes, but Blizz really gimped the sh1t out of the barb class |

If you want to try a new class, now is the time to do it with the 50% exp buff. You could get a Monk to 60 in less than five days. My friend just started playing D3 and he rolled a barb. We started on Tuesday night and he's all ready 53, and this is hardcore mode; he hasn't died yet, and he's having an absolute blast. So it's all perspective, he loves his barb more than a wizard he played to around 30. Frankly, Barbs were over powered, I'm not surprised Blizz brought them in line with the other classes.

Don't forget that exp gains and loot drops increase when you're playing in a group. Me and my friends get crazy drops when we're playing in a group of 4, but I don't see nearly as many when I'm soloing. If you can get in a group of 3-4 I highly recommend it.

Yeah, leveling is insane right now. 50% boost + difficulty boost + group boost + pool of reflection.
I'm just trying to figure out if I want to get multiple toons up to 60 or if I want to build up Paragon levels. |
