Thanks for the advice guys. I'll salvage the items and keep the rare ones that I get.
BTW, I'm doing this on the easy level and once I finish, I'll replay it on the harder level. Go back to the previous two pages and Davey gave some excellent advice and tips. Playing Easy, Normal or Hard has zero bearing on item pickups. I can attest to that from last night. Three of us are going thru and we did the last two parts of ACT I and first area of ACT II last night. I got two Legendary s and the other two got one each....and we're playing Normal. I've got some good armor with Magic Find at almost 22% (Level 19) with the DH. It's pretty funny to watch but the other two are using the WD and it's hilarious to see four dogs, two zombie Monkeys, a Black Crow, and Enchantress all in a group....talk about a Motley Crew Side question...in the character stats there is a line for "Damage from Skills"...all of ours are showing 0.00%....why is that? |
re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
The prices on the Auctions houses have dropped significantly since the announcment of closure. i was thinking of selling my current gear off and I definitely decided that wasn't a good idea. Things that cost 100 million before now only costs 5-10 million. It is crazy. On the RMAH you can spend like a $1 and get 50 million gold.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I was playing as my hardcore WD last night. It was pretty late and I dosed off while playing. Woke up to a dead character. At least he was only lvl 15.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I see you on once-in-awhile in my friends list...I thought you have a character a lot higher than that? not sure where you are (Act and Level) but I've got a DH Level 22 running with two friends in middle of ACT II, one Monk Level 24running alone in ACT II and one Wizard Level 13 in 2/3 of ACT I. If I see you on alone and my friends aren't on I'll join you....get an extra 10% bump in XP (20% at three and 30% at four) with two players.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I have lvl 56 Monk also. He's not hardcore though. I have a ton of gems I can give you. Next I'm on I'll join your game.

Beat the game on Normal (medium) with my level 34 Witch Doctor. Diablo was tough but I had my pets to help me beat him. Fun game, now I trying to start a new game with a melee character. What character should I played as, Barbarian or Monk?

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
Right now I'd put this game up along Borderlands as my number 1 best blind buy along with time put in it. It has been a real surprise. I've got three characters...one Monk 25, Wizard 24 and DH 25.
We toyed with bumping the level up from Normal/Medium to Normal/Hard to see if drops changed and no but we got our butts kicked (two wizards). We went back to Normal/Medium and did better and even got better drops. I hate to say but everyday I've played I've got at least two Legendary. One thing that happened last night that left us a bit puzzeled.... Two of us have been playing the storyline and are side-by-side. We played yesterday and got some above average drops...meaning more blue/purple than normal and some rare. Last night a friend jumped in and for the fun of it brought a totally new character in from basically scratch. After that our loot drops sucked...about 80% were white. We were like what happened and this was in ACT II Blood and Sand. On top of that something else happened...we weren't getting the number of "Massacre" bonus as we were earlier with two of us playing...it was nearly half. Now I've been told by someone that it's important for everyone to be in the screen to get the XP/bonus...not sure if that's true or what. Just happens this one friend who joins likes to ramble around on his own a lot or always be out front. We like to stay close and do more exploring than just run around full throttle. So we don't know if all this has any bearing or truth to it. |
re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
You need to get some of your characters up to higher levels and unlock some of the better abilities.
My Monk is 60+1 right now. I've got both blacksmith and the jeweler up to level 10. Now I need to find some better Plans to build some higher level gems. I keep finding the same legendary weapons. I have 3 Nutcracker Maces. Each of a different level though. |
re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I just picked this up used for X360, and I'm loving it so far. But my copy didn't come with the Infernal Helm code. Do you guys think it's worth seeking out/buying a code for the helm?

No, it's barely worth the effort of entering the code.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I wondered about how long should you wear that Infernal Helmet and how long others were. I was surprised to see some actually using it all the way to mid and upper levels. From what I've read and heard from some the emphasis is getting your character leveled up which this helps.
I'm using it on one character but not on the other two simply because they have Legendary Head pieces with some bonus in them along with other bonus features. I've got a DH (27) that even without the Infernal Helm has (79) Bonus Experience per kill. We still have two parts to do in ACT II. |

That's true, it just didn't seem like the Helm was helping too much to achieve that goal in my experience. Maybe I'll throw it back on when I get to the point where I'm grinding to level up.

I enter the secret level using my Staff of Herding and it's was a pretty trippy level to say at least.

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I'm just curious as how some are going back on 2nd, 3rd, etc...play-troughs? Right now we're in the 1/3 or close to ACT III on our first with Normal/Medium. Both of us are at Levels 27-26.
We were think it would be obvious to go back on a higher difficulty like Master I with a bit of a challenge with more reward. However a friend that's already Level 60 (7) said to go back on easy even though your character might be overpowered a bit to get leveled up. Essentially almost running through without much effort...which left us puzzled...what fun or challenge is that? So which is it...I know the first settings...Easy, Normal, Hard has no bearing on items or gold gains/found but doesn't Medium, Hard, Inferno, Master I-V do? And wouldn't you want more and better items even though it's a higher difficulty? I guess we're a bit confused on this second, third, forth and so on play-thru as what's the main objective...leveling up we 're guessing with finding better equipment, jewels, gold. So to clarify...we finish the game say at Level 34 and start a second play-thru on whatever...our character stays at Level 34 correct? But what about enemies strength, items, rewards levels? Are we going to see Level 25-32 items pop up in ACT I when we restart even on Easy? |

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
Does anybody know if the list of gamertags on the first page is up to date? Doubtful since it was last edited on May 2012. I wanted to add my name to the list...

No and a shame really considering there is nothing on those playing console like myself. I see a few here (on my friends list) like edstein, Krayzie, and one or more. It's not just getting a hold of someone at the right time but just where the heck are they in the game. I wouldn't want someone say at Level 50 coming into mine/ours where we're Level 25 or vice versa piggybacking on theirs to get leveled up. The second issue is play style...taking your time, stay together, grinding, power -run and so-on. There were three of us playing but we sort ticked one off and he hasn't played with us two since. He always wanted to run ahead and take out everything and open all on his own. We tried to explain we needed to stay together on screen so we all could get the Massacre Bonus plus make sure we checked everywhere. We constantly were finding tucked away chests or satchels off to the side where he went thru and always came up to skirmishes he had already done. Then the other group we played with simply Power Speed Run. They do stay together but it's non-stop. You pick up something better to use or level up a skill...tough luck on getting them to stop for a minute so you can check it out. Even if you need to return for repair...see ya. God help you if you need a bathroom break or something to drink. Right now there are two of us and we have three characters we're playing close...all in the 25-29 Level range first playthru. We're in ACT III either at the beginning or third level. |
re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)
I finished the game on Normal (Easy) on the PS3 and my Monk character is level 34. I started playing it on Nightmare (Master 1) and it kicked my ass. I'm now playing it on hard. I have some legendary items but none of them are higher than level 25. I'm still using the Infernal Helm to amass experience.

We've been lucky with getting Legendary. My DH has at least six and the rest are rare with some of them with sockets. My Monk is the same though both his two handed weapons are long behind level wise one is Legendary and one a socket rare. I've also been lucky to find items with a good amount of experience per kill. My DH has almost 70. |
