I have pretty much moved on from Diablo 3. I might check back in whenever they release a new patch.

I have been playing Drakensang Online for the past week and I suggest to everyone who enjoyed Diablo 3 to give it a shot. It is a free browser rpg, but don't let "browser game" deter you -- it is very impressive.

more and more places want your credit card info and more information. You get a new roku player? Put in a credit card....sign up for xbox live? put in a credit card, and if you try to remove the card it will freeze your account when trying to bill it again.....and then website after website gets compromised.

I guess with the new profiles people can see how large the bot problem is.

http://www.diabloprogress.com/rating.stat_elite_kills

It looks like the main reason the economy is so bad is that the game is filled with bots.

Is the assumption that all of those with a ton of kills are bots or something?

The assumption that to be able to kill that many elites would take so much time that you would have to be botting.

My gut feeling is that Blizzard knows this is true but has to be able to prove it is true plus be able to detect the bot to eliminate it. So they need to let them keep running until they can do that.

I stopped playing. I don't want to farm the auction house for good items. That's just boring. Plus, the game is just to repetitive.

Hopefully I will as well, however, I just booted D3 up a few minutes ago to give it a whirl after my long break from it. I played it for less than 1 minute and cut it off -- I just feel like i am "done" with it. Maybe this patch will make a difference.

FoxDVD -- have you ever gave Drakensang Online a shot? It is a free browser Diablo clone/MMO hybrid. The gave is very impressive for it to be a browser game. You might like it. It is kind of dull to begin with, but once you get to those first couple of dungeons you will have a good time.

You can participate in PvP if you want to, but it can be played without doing that. PvPers can't "jump" you so to speak, you have to have PVP "turned on" for that to happen. You will want to party-up at times to take on a tough dungeon, but you can solo everything if you want. Imagine that Diablo and an MMO had a baby -- this is that baby :)

Andermant is a special game currency that you can get from quests or enemy drops and it is also something you can buy with "real" money. There are lots of things that can only be bought with andermant. However, I have not come to a point where I have felt like I had to spend real money to advance. I have read that in PVP, the paying customers do have a distinct advantage, but PVE -- you will be fine just grinding.

Like I mentioned, give the game a shot. Put around 3 hours in it before you decide to give up on it. It is kind of boring at the very beginning. The game is quite impressive to be a browser game, some of the dungeons I have been in are quite beautiful.

haven't played in a while and started playing this weekend.
noticed that you cannot join a public game for the current quest you are on.
you have to have completed that mission.
when did they change this?
i think that really sucks.

Yeah, so a while back before the RMAH came to be I bought a bunch of very cheap legendaries. They never did sell on the RMAH. Bet they do after this update, and for quite a lot too lol

Why would your old legendaries be bought post-patch? Anything that's already in the system isn't getting retro-fitted. Shitty legendaries are still going to be shitty. It's only stuff that drops post-patch that's gonna have the cool shielding and molten effects and whatnot.

Because I didn't notice that part. No need to be shitty about it.

Didn't mean to come across as shitty. Didn't know you weren't aware of that fact, since I thought it was pretty widely publicized.

The IAS nerf was across the board so I assumed the legendary change would be also. If they blanket nerf then I would have assumed they would blanket buff too.

The IAS nerf didn't actually change the stats/attributes of any items. It just changed how IAS was used in game. It's been stated on battle.net that only post-patch legendaries will have the buffs, and everything already generated will stay the same.

Kinda sucks, but what else is new for this game?

I think the IAS nerf was easier to implement though. I think boosting legendaries would be more difficult since they have some random stats. I suppose they could make everyone reroll their legendaries or give an option to reroll?

I doubt Blizzard is ever going to buff any previous drops. They probably prefer having everyone farm the items so the user base increases and more rmah sales take place.

I haven't played for awhile and I don't plan on playing now until the patch drops. With my luck, I would find a bunch of legendaries right before the patch goes live...
