Until they revert the death loss I guess I am stuck in Act 1 farming since I do not want to lose a ton of gold farming in Act 2 or 3.

This small change is nice but they need to go further if they want us to risk dying in order to get the better chance of gear in higher acts.

Hell is still profitable, plus there's a (very) small chance to get 61-62 gear there. Seems like a safe way to finance my Inferno expeditions. I just need to stop accidentally dragging skills off the bar and killing my NV stack.

Finally got my new machine setup and everything loaded. I only got to get about an hour in before bed, but what a difference. I did not mess with any of the settings and it looks great, of course the 20" monitor vs the 15" laptop helps too. I will be on tonight around 8ish CST if anyone wants to run around with a 15 DM or a 11 Wizard, a really weak Wizard at that.

tempted to start a 3rd char but i don't know if i can right now. it would just be more money to get me running and more frustration. i'm helping a buddy get through hell and i think i'm going to be taking a break and playing some xbox until things level out a bit. i love the game, but i am starting to hate it because of all the silliness

Don't give up on hardcore! Makes it more exciting! Almost lost mine in inferno act I to a pack of desecrator, health link, plagued extra health guys with giant hammers. Saw the screen blink red twice... made it out, though! Monks are great for HC.

There's actually a way around that. When elective mode is enabled it lets you drag skills around which can be problematic.

To get the best of both worlds you would need to enable elective mode and then set all the skills you want. Now disable elective mode again and dragging should no longer be a problem.

How far into Inferno are you?

More money to get you running? I don't think I really even worry about money with new characters until I reach Hell. I just started my 3rd character, a Barbarian, after having a Monk at 60 and a Demon Hunter around 40. Not really any frustration for me until Inferno.

I think i am going to take a break for a little while. I started up a Wizard last night and got him up to level 7. I noticed that I wasn't really having a good time, so I think I am going to play something else for a couple of weeks.

Is the new patch helping or hurting? i didn't play with my level 60 so I didn't see any of the durability improvements

The new patch helps a little bit but it really only helps the people who don't die. The rest of us still get large repair bills from attempting to progress through Inferno. I suppose all the people who are already geared to clear Inferno are happy as they have cheaper repair bills now.

Has Blizzard said anything about getting rid of low level drops in Inferno? I know it probably won't happen as it will hurt their RMAH sales but it's annoying to finally clear a champ pack / elite only for it to drop a bunch of low level crap. Although to be fair most of the drops are crap anyway.

I believe the entire point of the the increased repair costs was to prevent "graveyard zerging", no? Well people are still doing that, so mission accomplished I guess.

officially i'm on beliel. i have the first checkpoint in act 3 as well, so i can go to that. my barb is just in act 2, but thats because i have no desire to play act 2 again anytime soon. barb can do pretty well on beliel, but can't kill him fast enough before the damn enrage timer goes off. i need to figure him out still.

dh is doing good damage but i can't kill beliel because i don't have enough resists. sort of a catch 22 i guess

as far as starting a 3rd char, i just dont' want to have to furnish another char for inferno.

If Blizzard really wanted to prevent "graveyard zerging" they would have just increased the respawn timer instead of increasing repair costs while also decreasing gold drops.

i'm annoyed that all their changes are against the players. need to protect those already unfair enemies! plus, the reset timer is so damn short for those elites anyway. i hate dying when they are half dead because i know i have to do it all over again

Or they could have just made it like wow, that if everyone dies then the mobs go back to full health and reset. Or at least up the regen they have to much higher when everyone dies.

or they could have just realized that this is a single player/coop game...and that if someone wants to zerg...who gives a flying fuck..

Everything they have done is to make money on the auction house...the loot drops on act 1 and 2 Inferno are bullshit...the enemies on Inferno will fuck you over unless you spend gold/money on the auction house...

People have compared this to other hard games, ones that many have not completed because of the difficulty. Not a lot of people beat say Call of Duty World At War on the highest difficulty...so why should Inferno be different??? The difference is those that did beat the call of duty game did so with skill...a calm mind...and a bit of luck here and there. People who beat Inferno on Diablo 3 do so with money/gold which gets them better loot...They keep nerfing anything that might let more than a few people beat it without that best 1/2 percent of loot out there..

I love this game, but those that defend Infero/auction house are full of it...

no one beat CoD WaW on veteran because its bullshit. world of grenades. thats just a broken game, BUT the single player was never a concentration of that. that was for multiplayer.

you're right, they just want me to keep spending my time on the auction house, trying to get me to spend real money. well guess what, that stuff is broken. i have over 60 items between the gold and rmah that haven't sold. unless its the uberelite gear it isn't selling, and that is selling for retarded amounts of gold. 20mil? wth? i am probably terrible at pricing things, but i've put stuff out there for 10k just to get rid of it and i cant. why do i keep coming back?

I just made me another $1.00 on the RMAH fellas.

Just when I think I am out...they pull me back in.

I can't wait for the expansion. Based on Blizzard's track record, the guy who spent hundreds of dollars in the RMAH on the perfect gear is going to step into Act V and have an upgrade drop off the first trash mob he encounters.

Yeah. I can not figure why Blizzard cares to penalize players who want to graveyard zerg mobs they are having a tough time killing.

I killed Diablo on Inferno the other day. A friend on his monk carried me to a kill on my Barbarian.

I can barely kill elite packs in act 2 or 3 and frankly have not bothered to try elite packs in act 4. The gold sink of costing me 5k gold each death is keeping me away from farming those acts where I die.

wlj 06-28-12 07:00 AM

re: Diablo III + Reaper of Souls (multi-platform)

i wonder if they will ever raise the auction entry limit. only 10 auctions is just not enough. playing with 5 stacks of valor makes yellows drop quite a bit and I have my stash packed. So unless I have a friend that I think can use it, i sell them to a merchant for small amount of gold.

i am farming in hell most of the time because I just can't play inferno worth a damn yet and it is just too damn expensive to try.
