Got to level 60 last night with my Demon Hunter and started inferno. Jesus tapdancing christ it is hard. Elite packs are BRUTAL. My dps is around 33,000. It was 45,000, but i am irritated i still cant find good loot so i bought gear with higher magic find...i am at 67%. It may not be worth the hit to my dps.

I am only at 10k dps and I can pretty much go through chapter one solo now. It's all about the kiting, oh and I'm a monk also.

Thanks. I doubled my damage fairly cheaply and I'm a bit better already--already saved more on repairs then I probably spent. I've mostly been sword and shield, just changed it up a bit towards the end of nightmare because it was going so slow, and it was mostly working out, although I had to drag out the shield against Diablo.

Thanks for the much improved stuff, and the "cow" level. Killed skeleton king on hell without him really doing any damage so I'm much improved.

FOXDVD---should I keep trying to raise my magic find % for inferno? I have it up to 67% but that came at a cost of losing almost 15,000 DPS. Which is causing me to get my ass handed to me even more so. Does magic find % make a huge difference? I can't find alot of gear(affordable) that increase magic find and have good Dex.

Don't do it, it's just not worth it. If you have a 5% chance to find something then the magic find will make it like a 7% chance. Not worth it to lose that much dps.

I agree with vitreo-draco. You are level 60, and even with the magic find you will not find the best loot until act 3-4. After the patch today it will be improved a lot, but I still think the best loot drop rate is 2% on act 1 inferno, so having 60% magic find is only going to raise that to 3%.

Remember, with 5 stacks of neph...you are guaranteed rares on bosses, and after the patch on elites as well. So while having more magic find will help on chests and normal enemies, it will not help on bosses/elites. Your best best is to grind act 1 and 2 after the patch, staying alive as much as possible and getting those stacks up. Repair cost just went up as well with the new patch, so you don't want to lose all your gold on that.

There are a lot of Diablo players that have no idea what is in this patch today. It will be fun watching the forums explode when people log on after the patch to find their dps down 10-30%...and their amazing 1300dps weapon now listed as 900. I am going to love all the "I am going to sue because I spent 200 bucks on this item" threads....

thanks! i will unload that magic find gear and put my more powerful stuff back on. I am not looking forward to these upgraded repair costs, hopefully Inferno won't be quite as hard and cause so many deaths.


i did read on another forum that nether tentacles is going to get nerfed. you will only hit an enemy ONCE per pass through and not multiple times. That rune will be pretty worthless now IMHO, gonna go back to the frost or ball lightning




yeah i am kind of nervous about what reductions I will find when I log on tonight. i have bought a couple of bows on the RMAH, but it was with blizzard money that I got from selling some other stuff. So i didn't actually use my own money so to speak.

just read this about Magic Find in the patch:

"Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses"

So i guess that gear is not very useful now

They should've known better that people were going to farm breakables. Perhaps they should've filled those areas with monsters.

how can you use lvl 61-63 items when the max level is 60?

also, how is experience shared when u group?
i find it strange that they allow a lvl 60 to group with a lvl 1 char.

ilevel (Item level) and level required to use are 2 different things. The Ilevel determines what kind of stat pool the item gets and the required level is just the level required to use the item. For example an ilvl 60 might have a stat balance of 50 and an ilvl 63 may have a stat balance of 60, but both require level 60 to use.

Not sure about xp though.

They've died quite a few times getting there. You can check his channel for some fun videos. I'm nearly done with Hell Hardcore and am a little more confident about Inferno with the changes today...

Every time I hit a mob I get 1.2k hp back. Very good stat imo.

Life on hit is ridiculous. Stacking attack speed and high life on hit will get you 3k+ life per second as long as you are hitting something.

Cool, I was not aware that this "Maintenance" today was the new patch. I can't wait to finally use my jeweler again. I also sold my +15% attack speed crap yesterday, by chance I guess so I should not lose any stats at all.

So since the servers are up and running now -- how is the patch working out? From what i have read on some other forums repair bills are ridiculous now. one guy said he died once in inferno and had a 6k repair bill

I should really invest in some of this gear, I'm LVL60 barbarian and managed to solo the game three times, beating Hell without ever having life on hit. I think it would help a lot for Inferno.

As much as I hate the increase in repair cost, if they nerfed inferno as much as I am hearing, should end up costing the same per hour unless you are just not geared enough for the act you are on and die left and right...
