Fallout 3 is my most anticipated game, and it is going to be a very hit or miss game.
Fallout 1 and 2 were two of the best cRPGs ever made. There are tons of people that have been wanting Fallout 3 ever since Fallout 2 was released in 1998. A decade later and our wishes finally come true.
However, the developer of the original classics (Black Isle) no longer exists so a new developer (Bethesda) is taking over for Fallout 3. The downside is that Fallout 3 looks like it could potentially turn out to be "Oblivion with guns in a Post-apocalyptic setting". If so, that is going to disappoint so many long time fans.

That's the problem. Newbies that have never played Fallout won't know any better. The hardcore Fallout fans will know that Fallout 3 could have and should have been so much better than "Oblivion with guns in a post-apocalyptic setting". The hardcore Fallout fans are the ones that actually want this game, and they will be disappointed if it is "Oblivion with guns". To the newbies, this is just any other game since they don't know anything about Fallout.
Catering to newbies and alienating the already established fanbase = the suck
But of course, I could just be worried for nothing. Maybe Fallout 3 will be awesome and just like the old school Fallouts. However, I think the days of those epic old school RPGs like Fallout, Baldur's Gate, and Planescape: Torment are over. Today's games are all about the flash and glamor.

I'm an old school RPG player (I started with Ultima 3 and Bard's Tale) who is a big fan of the Fallout series and would be perfectly happy if Fallout 3 played like post-apocalyptic Oblivion. Quite frankly, I think Oblivion stacks up pretty well with most of the classic RPGs.

If the game is good it's good. Frankly, the snails pace of the Fallout combat for one thing wouldn't hold up with today's gamers. And that includes many of us who did play the original games. It does sound like they are incorporating some of the cool features of the original Fallout combat, like being able to target specific body parts using a slowdown feature.

Shaun White Snowboarding looks like it could be good, at least for those of us who are wanting a new snowboarding game since the last SSX sucked. Granted, it won't be over the top like SSX, but it might be good.

Guitar Hero: World Tour comes out at the end of October... that's kind of near Christmas, I guess.
Fable 2 is October 1 release date.
I think if development goes smoothly, Final Fantasy XIII is also supposed to come out sometime in the end of this year.
I've heard rumors that COD5 might be pushed out by the end of the year.. I'm a little skeptical though... I don't want Infinity to rush it, because as much as I'm stoked for it, I don't want them to mess it up.
And there's always the newest Prince of Persia coming out in November I think?
That's all I can think of.. not a lot of buzz games.
