Too many games...

So I am on the verge of beating the main storyline of GTA and will probably mess around for some achievements after the fact but I am not sure which game to start next. I separated the games I have in 3 categories; 1) Unplayed, 2) Played, but not finshed, and 3) Instafun games that I still play.

Unplayed:
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Bioshock
Rainbow Six Vegas

Played, but not finished:
GRAW (2nd level)
Saints Row (very early in game)
Lost Oddysey (2nd disk of 4)

Now my Instafun games cut into my gaming time, these are Guitar Hero, Rockband, Tiger Woods, and NHL 08. I play these on a regular basis, not to mention my XBL Arcade games which is why I really only have time to focus primarily on one main game.

I have heard nothing but great things about the 3 Unplayed games, and I really enjoyed the 3 games I played but have not finished so I really have no idea. Now that I think of it, I think I will take Saints Row off the list for now since it is similar to GTA.

The good news is that I start vacation this week

Bioshock is spectacular. Great environments, creepy stuff going on, cool weapons, etc... It will consume you.

I was going to say all those look pretty heavy coming off GTA but since you mix it up with your 'instafun' titles then I'd also recommend Bioshock. There's a reason why it was GOTY for most outlets last year.

You have heard great stuff about Double Agent? Seriously? I thought most people regarded it as being the worst in the series. I loved the first three Splinter Cells and played through them multiple times, but I could barely stomach to finish Double Agent once.

I had the exact same 3 "unplayed" until I went through RS: Vegas a couple months ago. Of course there are probably 20 games I don't own that I want to play at some point. I've had Bioshock since September, and still haven't gotten around to it. It's a game I'm going to have to play when it's light out.

Hands down you want to go with Bioshock. One of the best games period. Once I beat it on my first go around I upped the difficulty to the hardest setting and went for the brass balls achievement. I had even more fun the second time. Great game.

I still got so many unfinished games...

Bioshock (somewhere near the end I think)
Gears of War (just started on Act 4)
Timeshift (Act 2 or 3)
Army of Two (just beat the 3rd mission)
Turok (stuck somewhere in the middle)

Just got Devil May Cry 4. Currently playing Ninja Gaiden 2 and Lego Indiana Jones.

Luckily, Devil May Cry 4 is pretty short (not counting replaying through the harder difficulty levels) and has a feature I wish more games had, which is a level select so you can just replay a level at a time. Gears of War is actually pretty short too...

My main backlog of games is on the RPG side of things... I finally started into Blue Dragon after giving up on Lost Oddysey (I got to disk 2 and just had no motivation to play through it, at least not now, so I'm thinking of trading it in while it still has value and picking it up later), and I'm still playing through Persona 3. I don't think I'll ever even get through half of the PS1 rpgs I have yet to play, much less the PS2 backlog. This is actually why I don't mind the shorter-but-usually-better format of a lot of newer games... I can actually finish them.

As for the OP, I'd recommend Bioshock as well... it's short enough that it can be finished pretty easily in the span of a normal-sized vacation, and it's great.

I have Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, GTA IV, Bully, Lost Odyssey, Condemned 2, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Zelda Twilight Princess, MGS 4, and Resident Evil UC to finish.

I really like Vegas and once you get used to it you should be able to get through fast enough

I have every Splinter Cell game, but double agent is the only one I ever finished. Great game.

Bioshock is so good. I'm playing it for the third time (and for the first time in about six months) so I can get the Brass Balls achievement and it's every bit as good as I remember.

I just popped this back in last night. Getting through Mexico was torture. The streets and first Casino level, however, were awesome. Although, for me it seems to be taking about 90 minutes per level on the normal setting. So far that includes dying at least once right before a save point so I have to go pretty far back and replay a big chunk.

This thread helps me feel better about the fact that I am not the only one who buys games and takes forever to finish them... Bioshock is the only game in the past year or so that I have finished. Right now on GTA IV and COD IV.

I've gotta go with Bioshock as well. Game is awesome as hell, I finally just beat it for the first time on Sunday night after taking three months off. I didn't stop playing because I got tired of it, I stopped playing because I spent so much time on it in such a short period that it started to mess with my mind a bit. The entire atmosphere of the game is just plain creepy and seriously badass. I'm going to play through it again since when I picked it back up I was only an hour from beating it.

I'm in the same boat. I've got a lot of games on the go, but I keep renting tons of games. I think my backlog for this generation alone (handhelds included,) has reached about 100 games...

Out of the three games you're asking about, Bioshock is my favourite, but Rainbow Six Vegas is also amazing.

I played some more last night and I'm having more fun with it than I did with Gears. That being said, the save system is pissing me off.

I still haven't tackled some of last year's big fall games:

Galaxy
Mass Effect
Uncharted
Assassin's Creed
Blue Dragon
Trusty Bell

I won't need to pick any of these up probably until August or later, so which should I get first?

I haven't played it in months either, but I may give it a whirl again soon as well.

I'd say Uncharted, and then Blue Dragon.

Watched a friend play BioShock and I would say go with that one for sure. I can't wait for it to hit the PS3.

Looks like Bioshock it is. I also forgot to mention COD4: I have beaten it, but I it was so much fun, I want to go back to a harder difficulty level.

What's wrong with the save system in Bioshock? It's one of those games where you can save anywhere, IIRC.

He was talking about Vegas, not Bioshock.
