Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?

Yeah they polished up the game mechanics and UI a bit...its definitely an improvement over GHWT and more fun. Less likely that there will be a failure and nobody even knows who's fault it was like in GHWT. That said there is still a lot more room for improvement.

I like a lot of the songs so it's a first day buy for me. I think the Bob Seger song was a really poor choice though, but whatevs. Apparently JH insisted on it.

Picked up my copy and pedal at Gamestop. I don't know if this applies everywhere but they said you had to pre-order before 3/17 to get a pedal.

So far, I am shocked.

Will post a review after I get more songs in.

For those out there, Best Buy has a Les Paul add-on for $10 for anyone that needs a 2nd or backup guitar.

Great shocked.

There is no question Rock Band is the superior plastic guitar game...but to say Guitar Hero Metallica is anything short of awesome is just incorrect. The animations, the songs...just incredible. And they finally have the charting about right. No more random notes like in GH 3 and some in GHWT. This is the pinnacle of the Guitar Hero series. I think it is better than 2. My faith in Guitar Hero as a perfect compliment to Rock Band has been restored. Keep milking the franchise, Activision!

It is just so much fun getting back to just ROCKING.

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?

I am a 100% Rock Band OVER Guitar Hero guy, but this game kicks ass all over the place!!! My plastic-guitar life is complete, Wherever I may Roam lives up to all expectations and more!! That's the song I looked forward to the most, and it delivers, bigtime!!

I love the charts, the animations, the song selection so far, and how the sets unlock. You don't have to finish a set to unlock more songs/venues. Sa-weeeeet game, back to jammin'!!!

Another awesome thing...after you get through certain songs, some will have an exclamation point next to them. Clicking B will let you view the lyrics, watch a video, etc... pretty cool stuff. While I'm not a huge Metallica fan, this is definitely the best GH game I've played, even more so than II. ...and for Yahtzee, Clive is back!!!

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?

Glad to hear the game turned out well. I wish I were enough of a fan of Metallica to justify the $60, but I'm sure I'll grab it when the price drops later this year.

God bless Target and their lack of VG space. I'd imagine this one won't be seeing a drop as quickly as Aerosmith because it'll probably be a lot more popular, but a busy rythym game release schedule should put it in clearance soon enough.

I think you need to direct that at Sony. If Target were to kick the PS2 cabinet to the curb they'd have more than enough room for more games and fewer clearance deals.

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?

The price of course will definitely drop, but it most likely won't drop as fast as Aerosmith. That dropped so fast because Activision forgot to touch Aerosmith's most popular parts of their catalogue...something they didn't really miss with Metallica.

Just picked this up at BB and it is awesome. By far the most fun GH game out there (IMHO). Also got the tat sleeve and extra wireless Les Paul for a measly $10 in the bundle. Great job with the song selection. \m/ \m/

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?

Having a blast with this game. I had never done the drums before in any of these games, but I picked up a drum set from Gamestop when I bought the game today because you can't play a Metallica game without doing the drums, right? I can't believe how fun and addictive they are, I barely even played with the guitar today.

Xbox Live / Multiplayer Achievements

Master of Puppets - 10
You scored the highest individual score on a song in a band

2 ways to do this,

1) Play online with crappy people in a band and hope you get a higher individual score than any of them.

2) Do this with the Band v Band achievement earlier, and play the instrument that your main profile is linked to.

The Unforgiven II - 10
Win an online Face-Off match by 25,000 points or more

Win a Ranked / Player Face Off match by 25K or more, remember that if someone is on a lower difficulty than you, their score will be rounded up at the end for "fairness", so it has to be 25K more than the final total score.

Win an online Pro Face-Off match by 25,000 points or more

Hard is the way to go. *Auto Kick disables achievements*

*SONG IS ON EXPERT+ FOR DRUMS*

Fight Fire with Fire - 30
Score 340,000 on the song Fight Fire with Fire as the bassist

Song is only achievable on Expert with at least a 98% and up.

Stone Cold Crazy - 30
Score 65,000 on the song Stone Cold Crazy as the vocalist

Song is only achievable on Expert. Aim for 88% depending on streaks and how good the free-form vocal sections are. SAVE STARPOWER FOR FREE-FORM, THATS WHERE YOU GET MOST OF YOUR POINTS.

Enter Sandman - 30
Score 330,000 on the song Enter Sandman on guitar

Really easy song outside of Solo, and even then its not too bad. With a bad star path, you will need a 98%+, but you might be able to get it with a 96% or 97% with a good star path.

Battery - 30
Score 1,000,000 on the song Battery as a band (4 player band)

Havent had a chance to play in a band, or even the song in GH:M, but a FBFC (Full Band Full Combo) on Expert in RB2 was over 2.2M, so looks like this should be one of the easier point achievements if you have some awesome bandmates.

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?

I just finished expert tour on vocals and it was fun (not to mention cake walk easy). I wound up choosing mostly non Metallica songs though. Am I Evil was awesome, as was Tuesday's Gone, both songs I wish I had in Rock Band. I wouldn't buy GH:M, but it is a fun rental choice.

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?

Just played through the whole guitar career on Hard. Mostly 5 stars but more 4's and some 3's at the end especially with Disposable Heroes and Puppets.

So much fun playing songs that I know inside out. The charts are pretty great too.

Going to try bass on Expert tomorrow. I probably won't do better than Medium on drums so who knows if I'll even need my double kick LOL.

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?

Picked it up today and just got through playing it after a few hours. Great game and great song selections. It plays much better than the other recent Guitar Hero games, I'm relieved to find. And I never thought I'd see the day where I would see Mercyful Fate in Guitar Hero, with King Diamond making an appearance to boot. Awesome!

Re: [It's not a Rumah] Guitar Hero: Metallica ... ?

I'm stuck between expert and hard What sucks is, I have the most trouble with the riffs, not the solos. The solos seem very easy on this compared to RB, but the riffs on the harder songs are freakin killing me (on expert). I'm 5-banging everything I play on hard (96-99%), but am failing out on the higher expert songs. What really kills me is the constant fast green with the alternating other notes.
