I have a 60GB and I rarely hear it when running. I think maybe they are also phasing out BC because they will have more PS2 games on the store to download and play.

i have a 60 and a 40 currently and had an 80 for awhile. the 40gb PS3 is so much quieter than either of the other two units i currently have or had, it is obvious. certainly not as loud as the 360 but on both the 60 and 80gb units you can CLEARLY hear the cooling fan from sitting position during quieter scenes. much, much worse when upconverting DVDs than with blurays....

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet... but the trophies for Burnout will be retroactive while the trophies for Uncharted will not be. So that means you'll have to start Uncharted all over again and find all 61 treasures one more time (which sounds like some fun to me!)

Any word if there will be trophies for Heavenly Sword and whether or not they will be retroactive? Because I kicked ass in that game and I traded it away.

That sucks about Uncharted, but at least I get one Platinum for Burnout. Probably my only one. I rarely try to 100% a game. I think my last one was New Super Mario Bros and Super Mario 64 before that.

Some New LittleBigPlanet footage from E3

God, I can't wait for this game. It really seems to be an evolutionary step in gaming -- it will be more interactive, more user-created than any game before. It's going to be amazing. I can't wait to see what levels people are going to build.

That last video clip scared the shit out of me because it just started playing on it's own. I don't like that.

Sorry. I guess it doesn't embed in the same way. By spoilerizing it, I think it won't do that any more.

Those were some great videos.

I just read over on ps3fanboy however that they're going to allow users who create levels to charge for them. My initial gut reaction is not a positive one.

I call B.S. That makes zero sense. Why would they allow people to start collecting income for user-generted levels and deal with all the legal and tax problems associated with monetary commerce when the system would work just as well, or more likely much better with free user-created levels? There's no way that's right. Besides Sony is already using lots of user-generated levels for free in Echochrome and it works just fine.

The people who are allowed to charge have to fulfill certain requirements first it looks like, so it's not everyone. But here's the link:

Since I don't play PS2 games, I got a MGS4 PS3 bundle and am thinking of putting my 60GB up on eBay. They seem to be going for a little cheaper than they used to be, is this because of people doing exactly what I'm doing or are the 60GB BC just not in as much demand anymore?

Any advice on if I should wait to sell or to go ahead and sell now?

I'm guessing you got the 40GB MGS4 LE PS3, as the 80GB still plays PS2 games.

The 20 and 60 GB seemed to be most in demand when the non-BC 40GB was the only alternative, so with another current unit (80GB) able to do BC demand on the older units lessens.

There might be an increase in demand for BC units once the new 80GB comes out without BC and there are no SKUs on shelves that have BC, but I'm not sure what kind of a premium it would carry.

Did anyone try the Siren: Blood Curse demo ? I kind of liked it the camera was a pain in the ass, but I like survival horror games. Episode one is coming this week for $15, or you could pay $40 for the whole game.

I have it downloaded, but haven't tried it out yet. I'll make sure to do that.

Here were my thoughts on it a couple of days ago.

I actually got the 80GB so there is some BC but not as much as the 60GB.

Maybe I'll wait until the new SKU is released and see if the worth of the 60GB goes up. I may need the cash before then, though. But thanks for reminding me that the new units after MGS4 80GB won't have BC.

I've been searching around trying to find some PS3 controller grips that aren't just rubber controller covers (meaning: they cover the controller and don't improve usage). I want something that will make the controller easier to hold on to for longer periods.

Has anybody found anything like that?

I know this is probably a really stupid question and it has most likely been asked and answered already, but I'm lazy and I don't want to look through 24 pages and all the other "Official PS3 Thread" threads.

I've created a couple of users (not PSN accounts) and I was just wondering if there is anyway some of them can be deleted.

Mine goes like this:

"--"
"User 1"
"Blu-ray"
"DVD"

Can I delete the ones I don't want anymore?

did you try hitting the triangle button? That seems to be the properties button for most functions on the XMB.

I think you have to log in to it first in order to delete it. In other words, you can't be logged in as user "Blu-ray" and delete user "DVD."

PSN sale. $4.99 each
Pixeljunk Monsters
PAIN
High Velocity Bowling
High Stakes Poker
Rocketmen

For $5 most of these are worth owning. I bought High Velocity Bowling, but I'm terrified to play it on my HDTV. I toss a controller through my LCD and that $5 game isn't such a good deal. Picked up Poker and PAIN as well. Monsters is very well reviewed, but not really my game.

Has anyone else tried out the Picture Album slideshow modes for pictures? I've had a PS3 for over 7 months and last night was the first time I tried those modes... very nice.
