Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
I played the demo again last night to get ready for today, and I'm really amazed at how much time they seemingly put into Andre The Giant. The character labors into the ring exactly the same as Andre did, facial expressions are spot-on and he plays as big as he looks.

Here's a match between Legends and imported wrestlers from SvR:

By the way, I think WWEShopzone has the best deal for the game right now. You can get the game and the Legends DVD for $65.95 with free shipping or get the game and the strategy guide for $62.99 and free shipping. To get the shipping, you use the code FREEME.

Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
Isn't there some sort of deal at TRU?
EDIT: Wow, IGN was not kind - 6.5 for both the 360 and PS3. |

Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
It's fun fun fun. I like it better than smackdown, it's veryarcadey, but arcadey done right. Not smackdowns halfassedtravesty.
Loading sucks as usual. PS3 looks a bit worse than 360 to me. And before anyone else complains. Why are the fans wearing bret hart shirts during wrestlemania 2 Alot of the impessive stuff, like not being able to pick up Andre only happens in the relive matches. Still awesome though, just wish there were more, unless they are unlockable? |
Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
I think I like the graphics in 1991 Wrestlefest better than this. They just seem to be going backwards with the visual design of these games IMO.

Its very hard on legendary but in a fun way. prepare to kill the buuttons on a few controllers. Warrior vs hulk relive mmatch is amazing

Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
Love this so far. The controls are a bit wonky, but you get used to them. The addition of the SvR roster is awesome, I can't believe people aren't making a bigger deal that they essentially doubled the roster and let you create all kinds of crazy matches.
The only thing I've seen that stinks so far is the really small amount of 'relive' options. Are there only 6 or 7 or am I missing something? |
Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
25 minutes until I leave work and go straight to Best Buy to get this.
If they don't have it out, I'm going to choke slam someone! :) |
Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
Just ordered it from the WWE Shopzone website w/strategy guide for $62.99. Worth the wait to save $15 or so.

Oh god, the PS3 version has this horrible flshing effect everytime someone is punched or something. It's awful in royal rubmle/battle royal because it pixelates the screen badly. You get dozens of quarter second pixellation that looks like someone took a 320x240 pic and blew it up to full screen.

Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
I don't really like how simplistic and limited gameplay is, but the achievement points are cake. I played for about an hour and got 450/1000. Nostalgia factor is good, but the game is just too basic and too few moves for me.

Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
Online play sucks. It takes like 1/4 second for input to register, so kicking out of pins by holding buttons is impossible as is reversing. So it turns into a who can strike the other guy first match :(

I'm having fun with the game but it is in serious need of a patch. |
Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
Sigh. I was on the fence and finally talked myself into it. After I order from Amazon all these bad reviews pop up. Sigh.

Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
I played through one of the Legend mode things last night and really didn't have too much fun. Looking forward to doing the Relive and associated gameplay types. Those look to be quite entertaining as I love the memory lane setup before the matches.
Achievements are kind of ridiculously easy, and they just seem really oddly balanced. |

You don't have to buy the game, only $30 of WWE merch.. which of course the game would most certainly qualify. Smackdown vs RAW 2009 also would qualify. |
Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
I'm liking the game a bit. It's repetitive but I'm not as good as other people are so it's still challenging to me.

Re: THQ to release WWE -Legends of Wrestlemania in 2009
Anyone with SvR 09 imported notice that the SvR wrestlers look like someone is shining a light on them. PS3 here
