Nope the original assertion we're arguing here is this....

The Wii will not be doing most of those things without add-ons and it certainly won't be viable without the option of HD. Maybe they'll go that way with the next console but they'll be burning a ton of people if they jack the price up. Does anyone really think that the 360 couldn't add a weather blade or an internet blade or whatever if they felt like it? Does anyone think the PS3 won't be able to do these things with PShome?

Again I'm only arguing that the Wii cannot and will not be an all-in-one solution, but hey that's not why people bought them in the first place. :)

And I expect as you do that there will be announcement on some device shortly. Its not the Wii's fault the developers wanted to rush to market and cash in quick knowing they would have to cut content. They could have waited.

I believe the current Wii experience is a foreshadowing of things to come. Id expect some form of all these services in a Wii3.0. It takes time. Whether they decide to put more into the thing besides a gaming only 'experience' is up to them. But why toy around with a weather or voting service if you are not planning for something more down the road?

If I had a content driven business I would be knocking on Nintendo's door and getting my devs. on board with some Wii channel driven service. Youd be shortsighted not to do so.

The only experience I get from a 360 or PS3 is the same experience my PC can deliver. yay?

Has there been any signs of Nintendo allowing to 3rd parties to deliver content via a Wii Channel? They seem to have it pretty tightly under wraps.

The Internet browser if from Opera. And WiiWare has all kinds of third parties developing for it -- right now it's just games, but it could be other applications in the future (not that I forsee much demand that).

How about this? A food channel where you can order a pizza from your favorite pizza place and have it delivered.

Stock quotes?
Purchase movie tickets?
Concert/sporting event tickets?

You could make the content national, regional, or local.

Channels for your favorite tv shows, movies, hobbies, sports etc.

You can do ALL of that through the Internet browser. Why break it out as a seperate app?

You could see the weather and vote in polls through the browser too :p

I still can't get to a neighbors' wireless signal. They're either all blocked or red. Only two show up anyway. Rather than me get internet myself, is there a range extender/finder that I could plug into the wii to get a better signal?

Also, isn't there a website that will show you the different prices on internet for one's area? I'd rather stick to piggy-backing since I don't have/use a computer while at home.

To take advantage of the 'channel' interface.

It easier if a channel is front and center as opposed to having a customer load up a browser, link to a site or type it in, wait for it to load, login, place an order etc. I can to all that much faster on my PC or just phone it in.

Or I can click on the channel and order. Done.

The channel interface is horribly kludgy. What you are suggesting would the problem worse.

Agreed. Surfing for government red flags is the neighborly thing to do.

You select the channel and it loads the content. Easy. Channel software was designed for wiimote input.

The internet channel is great for basic surfing. But for actually doing anything its severly hampered in its speed and interface. Tried typing with the wiimote?

A dedicated channel would deliver only content you need and not have to fuss with trying to use a crippled web interface.

Speaking of channels, is there a way to change their order? I know it's silly, but the Super Mario Bros. 3 channel comes before the original Super Mario Bros. one on my machine and it really annoys to me.

Hold down A+B to pick up and move channels.

Hover over the channel you want to move then hold A+B on the remote to drag it where you want it.

I think if you point at the channel you want to move you can do so by pressing the A+B buttons at the same time.

The only channel you can't A+B move is the Disc channel.
