They arent perfect covers but at least they are songs I enjoy.

There are alot of songs that have grown on me that I never thought I would like on GH3 but this one will not.

'Story of my life' ... the fact that he was being literal and the song takes more than a lifetime to play = worst.

I love cover tunes. I have a few hundred in a playlist in iTunes. However, both of those are two of the worst covers I have ever heard.

That song I can handle, but it is a bit long like you said.

Down and Dirty is just long and aweful.

The move from Medium to Hard is ridiculous. I passed Lou(at 65% ), now I've been able to beat one freakin' song on Hard. I guess I need to practice.

Expert Mauvais Garcon is a neat song but it doesnt make my ears bleed. My fingers yes, but not my ears.

Yep going from Med to Hard is the toughest part of the game but you can get thru it with practice. The hardest part about it is learning everything all over again it seems.

if your trying to pick up the Orange button, i recommend learning it on RockBand first... Their transition from Med to Hard is easier than GHs Med to hard i think... Just an idea, RB1 is pretty cheap now

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not buying a nearly identical game just to improve. I'll keep practicing. I just thought it was insane to have the number of notes, the speed, and the additional button on even the first songs. It's not gradual at all.

OK in Expert-Before I Forget what is the proper technique for the final rush of chord changes?

Do you shift up and down or fret them? Shifting that fast seems too sloppy/inconsistant every time I try. The whole guitar starts shifting about and notes get missed.

Here's how I did it

There's no "proper" technique to doing anything really, whatever works, works.

I shift up and down, and as I've mentioned before, I memorize the basic pattern and then don't look at the TV at all, just stare at my hands or the floor. I completely ignore the really fast shifts near the end of the section and just play the same pattern over and over.

OK thanks again rabbit, mordred. I figured it had to be quick shifts, which is one of the last things I have to work on speeding up. Alt strumming is finally getting to be second nature.

There has to be a best or proper technique. Cant be as good as you are and be sloppy. You'll either never be consistant enough or you end up with major hand trauma!

Have you FC'd everything in the disc rabbit?

by no means am I anywhere near iamchris4life...

the hardest FC I've done was Cult of Personality and on the last tier, I've done Cliffs. Only 3 or 4 people in the world have done One, although quite a few have done Raining Blood & NotB.

Re: GH3 / Guitar Hero III Thread III

Bump!

Got a question. After a year of my prodding, a friend finally got on the RB/GH bandwagon and he picked this up for $10 at Target last week. Was planning to go through co-op with him for some achievements, but then I remembered hearing that only the "primary" player gets them. So If we each wanted the lead & backup achievements, we'd have to play through career 4 times, right?

If that's the case, we may not bother. But I want to know before we start.

Re: GH3 / Guitar Hero III Thread III

Constant:
My game as lead (him as backup, achivement?)
My game as backup (him as lead, achievement?)

These are necessary if only the "primary" player gets the achievements:
His game as lead
His game as backup

Is this true?

Re: GH3 / Guitar Hero III Thread III

yeah, you have to play it 4 times for both of you to get the achievements. So lame.

Re: GH3 / Guitar Hero III Thread III

This game has the most-retarded achievements ever.

"Button Masher

Win 15 consecutive Ranked songs online using a standard controller"

Awesome.

I'm at 135/1000, and don't see myself improving too much from that. It's killing my average.

Re: GH3 / Guitar Hero III Thread III

You can't even play a co-op career online?! This game is so fucking ghetto. Shame on me for assuming that would have been added since GH2

Whole thing is moot now and I'll probably try to get my 8 year-old daughter to play with me...
