They have a say in what shows they'll be a part of. It's not like it was a surprise to them. The show was pretty much universally panned and is in my opinion the lowest point in their career (sans Rock in a Hard Place which nobody remembers these days anyway).

Hmm... be a part of the most watched program on the planet or pass because two of today's biggest stars may be performing? Wow, what was Tyler and Co. thinking?

Who's to say that Aerosmith wasn't signed first and Timberlake et. al signed on later? You make it sound like they set out to make a terrible show.

Maybe they were just trying to have some fun & try something different...like maybe having rappers do one of their songs in the 80's, maybe Walk This Way.

Crazy talk! They would never do something like that.

Each set is 2 'opening band songs', then 2 aerosmith songs and an encore. So 2 non-aerosmith for every 3 aerosmith.
Word going around is there's about 30 Aerosmith songs in the game, so if there are 3 in each gig, that's 10 gigs. 20 opening band songs. So 50 songs total in the game. There'll probably be some indie band bonus songs in there too somewhere.

Sounds good to me. Now the question remains, what are the 30 songs? Just looking at a couple GH discs from different eras you have 22 right off the bat

Dream On
Same Old Song And Dance
Sweet Emotion
Walk This Way
Last Child
Back In The Saddle
Draw The Line
Kings And Queens
Come Together*
Remember (Walking In The Sand)

Dude (Looks Like A Lady)
Angel
Rag Doll
Love In An Elevator
Janie's Got A Gun
What It Takes
Other Side, The
Livin' On The Edge
Cryin'
Crazy
Deuces Are Wild
Amazing

To which you could add:
Train Kept A Rollin'
Big Ten Inch Record
Toys in the Attic
a rarity or two from the early days
then 2-3 post-Get a Grip tunes (Jaded? I Don't Want to Miss a Thing? ?? I'm not familiar with this era)

*highly doubtful since it's a Beatles tune.

Yeah, I'll bet they have something off of Nine Lives (Pink, Nine Lives...?).

Oh yeah. I always forget about Nine Lives. That was a decent album.

Yeah I don't expect Come Together to make the list.

Also, Crazy/Cryin'/Amazing should all be one song since the charts will pretty much be exactly the same.

Def Leppard to appear in upcoming Guitar Hero game. At least three songs: Photograph, Animal, and Rock of Ages.

http://www.licksandclicks.com/2008/0...rumor-def.html

But will it be GH:Aerosmith or Guitar Hero 4?

According to my friend (who says this came out of EGM, so huge grain of salt): Here's the 1st 3 tiers.

Tier 1: Nipmuc High School

"All The Young Dudes" - Mott The Hoople*
"Dream Police" - Cheap Trick
"Make It" - Aerosmith
"Uncle Salty" - Aerosmith
Encore: "Draw the Line" - Aerosmith

Tier 2: Max's Kansas City

I Hate Myself for Loving You - Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
"All Day and All of the Night" - The Kinks*
"Movin' Out" - Aerosmith
"No Surprize" - Aerosmith
Encore: "Sweet Emotion" - Aerosmith

Tier 3: The Orpheum

"Complete Control" - The Clash
"Personality Crisis" - New York Dolls*
"Livin' on the Edge" - Aerosmith
"Ragdoll" - Aerosmith
Encore: "Love in an Elevator " - Aerosmith

* cover

Geez, those non Aerosmith songs SUCK! IMO.

Definitely would look forward to some Def Leppard or Motley Crue or Poison or Prince or anything from the hair bands of the 80's.

Anything above $30 makes this a no-buy for me. They're going to quickly over-expose this franchise....I predict this will be the lowest selling game of the series by far.

I'd bet that because Aerosmith is so heavily involved that the licensing is going to make the cost be up there...

Pre-order is $49.99 for Wii and $59.99 for 360 and PS3. It's a full retail title.

It'll definitely be the worst selling in the series, then.

Wasn't the 80's version originally a full $50 PS2 title, but on sale pretty soon after release for about $30 at Best Buy?

Hopefully they'll reduce the price on it much faster than they have with GH3. I'll definitely get it at some point, but I'm not going to rush out to get it. Plus that time of year I'm playing video games maybe an hour a week, so it'll be easier for me to hold off.

According to wiki 80s only had 30 songs. Aerosmith will boast the usual 50-60.

Joystiq is reporting Def Leppard will have three tracks in GHIV (proper, not Aerosmith ed.)

Photograph
Rock of Ages
Animal

Three tracks from one band, in one game? That'd be odd.

Sounds more like a Def Leppard DLC pack to me.

Are you really that confident in your arbitrary prognostications?
