* Resume Play - begin playing a DVD or BD disc from the point where you previously stopped it, even if you eject the disc and insert a different movie or game.

Does anyone know what kind of bundles Sam's Club currently has (and prices).

Doesn't work on Blu-Ray Enchanted, which was the first one I tried last night...

It did work on a disc of Season 3 of the Office, but I didn't have time to try multiple discs.

edited to add: I read the thread in the HD forum, I guess Enchanted is part of a group of java enabled blu rays that don't support the resume feature.

I know for movies like Spider-Man 3, you can put your own bookmark in there...

Not true, just tested that and it works fine. Heck, a Sony DVD player I got in 2005 could save the resume for up to 40 discs. Surprised it took so long to implement in the PS3, but I'm glad it's here.

That's a relief. It didn't make sense to not support more than one resume.

I tried it with all 4 discs of Planet Earth and it remembered them all. Not sure what the limit is, but it is at least 4 discs.

BTW, you have to return to the main menu before shutting off the PS3 or ejecting the disc. The resume feature only works if you exit out of the disc to the main menu. I usually hit the O button to do this.

Just applied the system update....

FYI: DivX files aren't the only files that can be greater than 2GB... VOB files greater than 2GB now work too!

Can you read VOB's off of a portable USB HD or a networked PC?

I love the resume feature. I've been dying for this one. But I still think it's a faulty implementation. I'm watching my Walt Disney Treasures: Disney Rarities right now. When I resume the disc, instead of taking me back to the menu (where I left off), it plays the first title on the disc (the Play All option). It really should dump me back to the menu if that's where I left off. This would also be a great feature for TV on DVD.

Still, it's a welcome feature and hopefully one that they'll eventually improve.

Ok just got a PS3 and while I was setting it up last night the background was black with a clear/white wave rolling in the background. I tried a few different colors but settled back on 'original' TODAY when i turn it on, the background is now PINK and set to original, I can change colors but cant get back to the black. DVDs and BDs play fine in it with no color problems. the white letters are white so its not a general tint problem. What gives? Is this a known issue?

The colors change throughout the 24 hour day. Just like the PSP, though I think that changes more slowly, thoughout the year.

If you don't like that, go download some themes through the PSN store. they have lots of cool ones and they're all free (unlike another online "market place").

I had a question about the themes... if you want to use them, is there a way to customize them? The reason I ask is because I like the Lost Planet one, but the bullet sound it makes when you move in the menu is really loud...

Besides my PS3, I've got a Sony DVD Player back from 2005 that resumes for up to 40 discs. It won't hold a resume on menus, you have to actually be watching some type of video on the disc...

Just to put the word out...Sony has said that some PS3 accounts may have been violated. They do not think any credit card information has been take just people changing out the passwords and such. They encourage all PS3 owners to log into the Network and make sure nothing got changed.

I have a question about the new firmware update, I can't access the Playstation Network because I don't have good enough internet access, is there any other way to get the update?

Download it from a friend's house with high speed internet. Put in a portable hard drive and follow the instructions in the PS3 website.

You can download it from here:

Here is a link. It was the UK store, not the US store.
