Then personal reasons:
- Not a fan of the recessed buttons (easier to lose where you are)
- select button in an awkward spot for someone that doesn't do the motion
- missing the click... you heard me right, I like the click of the strum on the LP, it helps me keep up with what's going on on screen.

Hmm, the recessed buttons on the Strat make it easier for me to slide my hand, and the bars at either end help keep me from getting lost. I get lost much easier with the LP. I do wish the Strat was wireless.

Best place to see available and upcoming DLC:
http://www.rockbandcontent.com

The database has information on difficulty for each instrument and videos (in game when available) for each song.

Meh. Shagrath's "#2" is better, and easier to navigate.

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but agreed!

I also added it to my sig, so people don't have to go back to the first page when I say I updated it on Tuesday.

I agree with pretty much everything, except I think the select button is placed too close to the strum bar. I always find myself hitting the select button and accidentally activating overdrive when I don't intend to.

I've been playing with the Fender these last few days because my Les Paul is out of batteries and I haven't made it to the store to pick up a new set, and I have to say, now that I have a controller that works, it's really not so bad. But it's still a step down from the Les Paul.

Thank goodness I play Lefty :)

I actually prefer the Strat at this point. The thing is, you have to get the replacement Strat, the original one definitely sucks. The replacement is much better, they have reinforced the neck and made a few other improvements. Once you get used to the recessed buttons it is so much nicer faster and smoother to mover around on them. Now when I go back to the LP it feels clunky and cumbersome (I was actually never a big fan of the raised buttons to begin with as a RL guitarist but I had gotten used to it).

As far as the strum click, I find that what substitutes for the center click is the strum bar reaching the end of its travel either all the way up or all the way down. Which actually is a better place for the 'click' (not audible in this case but you feel it) when you are alternate picking, which you need to do on Expert. Also less annoying IMO since it isn't noisy, though the fret buttons on the new Strat are noisier than I'd prefer.

Activating 'star power' or 'overdrive' seems to be flaky on every one of these plastic guitars I've ever tried. I wish you could activate it with a pedal, like you would a real overdrive for a guitar solo. On the Strat I can hit the button to activate it with my knuckle but it still screws me up sometimes.

Being wired sucks but at least there is a small advantage in not having to worry about batteries. I'll be getting the wireless version as soon as its available though.

I may have to get a my Strat replaced a second time though b/c the whammy bar has gone limp. I fixed it with a hairtie though so it's not a huge deal. At least EA is good about replacing this stuff, my LP occasionally has buttons go unresponsive thanks to the detachable neck 'feature' but I'm not sure that Activision is replacing LPs for that.

EA just got back my 2nd one, so I guess it's time to RMA my third :(

They've actually gone through at least four revisions, so if you're only on the second, you are far behind :)

My GF rocks, I had a GH3 night with my buddies on Friday, and she walked in with the Rockband bundle out of the blue. Awesome

I want to see some Jane's Addiction hit the DLC.

devilshalo 03-03-08 01:37 PM

Note to self. Have water ready if I ever try to do the 12 song gig in Los Angeles again during BWT. I got all the way to song 12 and failed out on Enter Sandman. I was so distracted on making sure I hit the notes on vocals (at which point my voice was pretty cracked), I didn't notice I was slipping on guitar till it was too late. :(

After watching the Queen Rock's Montreal BD I must say...this game needs some fucking Queen.

As far as the game is concerned, I could! And that's all that matters to me. I know I'm not an awesome singer, but I can beat every song on Expert. I've thought about getting some real vocal training, but I only want to do it to get better at Rock Band, not for any "real" reason.

Hey Shag - check your PM... If you can do what I asked within the next 10 minutes that would rock - otherwise when you do it- do a "report this post" on the old thread and ask us mods to lock 'er up.

Thanks!
