Quick Rockband Set-up Question
I just bought rockband for xbox 360 and I started to play it.
The microphone doesn't seem to be working.
I plugged the mic, drums and guitar into the hub then the hub into the xbox.
The drums and guitar are working but no words appear on the screen during a song.
I didn't see an on or off switch on the mic.
Is it hooked up right ?
Is there something else you need to do to work the mic ?
Thanks.

Naw it can be logged into any of the controller slots.
It sets aside character slots for each Gamer Tag you have on your 360. So if my girlfriend and my roommate wanna play, I had to create two different Gamer Tags on my 360 for them to log into. If you want to use the mic under your gamer tag, you're going to have to log out of your tag on whatever other instrument you're logged in with and log in with the Controller/Mic combo.

I found that the mic only works if it is directly plugged into the xbox. Try doing one at a time starting with the microphone and controller. Then add the other instruments after it is recognized.

It takes getting used to.
I'd recommend plugging in the mic into the hub with nothing else plugged in, turn on the system, plug-in or turn on a controller, and start with that... then start adding other instruments. Just until you get used to how it works.

I don't want to hijack theis thread but I have a question that fits with the theme: Can you do a world tour with just two instruments...say you with a microphone and a guitar? And do the two on different difficulties? And get your achievement points?

Yes you can do a 2 player world tour. You can be on seperate difficulties, but it counts for both as the lower. After you get a certain number of fans, it says you can't get any more until you move up to a harder level.

Thanks guys.
I got the mic to work with the xbox controller.
But now, the guitar and drums won't go on. Only the mic.
Is there something I have to do to get the guitar & drums on ?

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB connector and power to the hub as well as seat and unseat the USB cables for each device. I've had similar happen to me once or twice and this resolved the problem.

I'll try it when I get home from work.
I hope I don't have to do this each time.

Did you connect the USB's power supply?
I didn't do that at first and discovered that the hub can run the drums "unpowered" but absolutely requires the power supply for the mic.
I'm 99% sure that's your problem.
