There is no magic 2,000 feather spell. I use every feather there is, Ease Burden, Lighten Load, Pack Mule, etc... Then you have potions. Once you get up in your alchemy skill, you will get crazy high numbers with a feather potion, and you can 'stack' them. Once you have a feather spell, you can create new ones at Frostcrag Spire. The max I could create was 100lbs, but I made a few different ones (named differently).

For healing, check the town churches. In each town, there is a healer in their church. They only show up for a small time per day, but be patient. Along with some nice healing spells, they offer attribute-increase spells also. For example, Skingrad's healer may offer Fortify Strength, Greater Fortify Strength, and a few other unique spells. This goes for each city. By the way, Fortify Strength & Greater Fortify Strength are basically the same as feather spells, but don't last as long.

Leveling-up is about it for increasing magicka, I believe, but there are fortify magicka spells or potions, if I remember correctly.

Okay, I think I've reached the end of Oblivion. I've closed the gates, gotten the dragon armor, I'm the leader of both mage and fighters guilds and hate the idea of my good name being dragged through the mud by the assassins guild. I've bought 5 houses and furnished them all, my horse is wandering around some cave, lost forever. So without doing the add-ons, am I done?

Should I pack it up and buy Mass Effect now?

Essentially, but be aware that the Thieves and Assassins Guild quests are cooler than any other quests in the game (imo).

I finished the Assassin's Guild, and it was awesome. I thought it was actually pretty short. Is it done when you are the listener? I mean I know you can collect money every week, but I will probably forget to do it most of the time.

Oh, by the way I think I have a problem. When I was doing the Assassin's Guild, and I had to kill Alvas Uvani, I did it in Skingrad. Unfortunately, I believe Shum Grorag(whatever his name is) was killed during the assassination. He attacked me, and then a guard killed him. Now I can't seem to buy a house in Skingrad, but the quest isn't removed from my list. Whenever I click on it an arrow appears in Skingrad, but I can't seem to find where it's pointing. It seems to be where rocks are, but no people. I have no clue what to do.

A character specific for a quest should not have been able to be killed. They all have crowns over their head and just get "knocked out". The guy that starts the house quest should have been that type of character.

Best tip for a new player? Return the game asap. It will suck the life out of you for months.

Well, it's too late for that. I am already addicted. Only new episodes of the Wire can drag me away from it.

Well I'm definitely not going to go back. I have done a lot of stuff since then.

So what does everyone think about the item glitch? I had no clue about it until my girlfriend's uncle came over and showed me. It pretty much kills all money problems, but it is pretty cheap.

I did the item glitch with the first character I made. I felt dirty & cheap for using it so I deleted that character & never used it again. I'm not a person that uses cheats, except the hyperspeed cheat on GH2, which actually makes the song harder.

Agreed.

And, of course, the Mehrune's Razor and Shivering Isles expansions are very cool.

I only used the item glitch to make arrows. My first character was an archer and I thought it was a pain to always have to pick up arrows.

I thought they patched that glitch though?

I'm not sure, I haven't tried it in over a year. I remember using it with Sigil stones, and I would make so many at a time, the framerate would drop so much it was horrible. It really took the fun out of the game for me. My one buddy plays with the brightness slider up the whole way so he 'doesn't really have to look for things'. It looks like it's daytime even when there is no/little light. Again, doesn't seem fun to me.

Well I finished the Fighter's Guild, and the Arena stuff. What other similar storylines are there like those other than the main quest? I have completed the Dark Brotherhood, Thieve's Guild, and Mage's Guild already. I notice that I am also a part of that Knights or whatever that protect the King. I guess I rise through those ranks in the main quest?

I also joined that vampire group, but they never seem to have quests, and I can't get them to buy all my vampire dust for some reason. It's like they only take one. I guess the best way to get other quests, is to just talk to everyone in every town, or just go riding around in my horse finding other areas?

There are also the Temple quests (I forget the true name), where there are people praying at some shrine or something. I know you get Azura's Star and a few other tasties this way.

Right I know that, but there's not really a structure to that that I know of. I found Azura's Star, and did I think two others, but there is no "ranking." I can't go to someone to assign me quests, and move up in the ranking. That's the type of quests I am referring to.

It's called Daedric Quest. I suggest you check the Elder Scrolls Wiki (in case you missed: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Main_Page) for the quest. But there are some level restrict that you might need to gain first before you do that quest.

This will seem really stupid ... but I can't figure out how to fast travel (PS3 version). When I go to the world map in my inventory, I can move the pointer around, but I never get a travel option, even when it is over places that I've been.

You won't be able to travel if your in a battle or running from a battle. Also, you have to be outside. You can't travel from inside a dungeon or from in a house.

Also, make sure you're traveling to a specific city/cave/ruin/etc... You can't just land in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Turns out it was something even weirder. As long as I have my GH3 dongle plugged in, the game won't let me fast travel at all. When I take the cursor over places I've been, nothing happens. Pulled the dongle ... wow, whole new world. Only had to do the first 4 levels by walking/riding everywhere ....

I have not played this game for a while after getting a new puppy, but where I left off I'm not too excited to get back. Is the main quest the weakest part of the game? I find closing Oblivion gates rather boring. I closed about four to get cities to help me, but I really don't feel like closing anymore of them. Should I persevere? Does the main quest get more interest after that, or am I doomed to close gate after gate? They all look the same.
