I figured rock band would have sold a heck of a lot higher than 70k copies

Yeah me too, there is a huge demand. I apologize for not getting more of the top games in the print screen, my screen is tiny doh.

Considering me and about 20 other people were in line at wal-mart waiting for one, I would have figured at least 200k

Isn't Rock Band like a gajillion dollars?

I saw plenty of Rock Band still floating around at various stores when I was out on Black Friday. I think the price is too high for a lot of people, especially those that already paid $90 for Guitar Hero 3.

Mario Galaxy did huge!

I thought Mass Effect would sell more, but then I again I think the RPG crowd is probably a lot smaller then other genres.

I don't have a 360, but I hoped that mass effect would have sold more too. Great selling RPG style games means we will have more of the same in the future. I guess we should wait till they sell diablo III for the xbox360, that might ship some titles.

These low sales for Mass Effect and Rock Band are pretty crazy.

Rock Band was available widely in some places and impossible to find in others, let it work itself out, I think it will pick up steam during the holiday season.

Mass Effect and Rock Band were made available on Tuesday, November 20th, a week busy with travel, and were not exactly "sale" items on Black Friday. I think both will do quite well in the end.

Rock Band is widely available in the Los Angeles area... I've seen copies at every Best Buy, Costco and Target I've been to this week. Not only is it expensive, it'll be vetoed by wives and parents alike... at least, that's what happened to me...

Well, I can't find any copies at any store in my city. That goes for the 360, Wii, & PS3 version.

Hopefully Mass Effect will have some legs, there isn't exactually a ton of competion in the console sci-fi western rpg genre. Anyway, my copy just arrived today, looking forward to it!

You can stop looking for the Wii version. There isn't one.

I want pull the trigger on this one, just not sure where I will have room to store it.

The fact that Wii sports and Marvel:UA are still up on the boards tells me people are buying crazy amounts of 360's and Wii's for the holidays. I wonder how long it will take for these games to fall off the charts?

Also, it doesn't surprise me Rock Band isn't doing as well as expected. I am sure the fact that the instruments are already starting to break or even be broken right out of the box is hurting sales. That is the one factor that is detouring me from picking the game up.

What happened to the ~300% increase in PS3 sales?

Amazing that it only took two weeks for SMG to break a million copies.

Rock band is not out for the Wii.

I'm, hopefully, getting the game only for Christmas and I'll use my Les Paul. If I'm desperate for some more music gaming during a drought next year, I'll get the drums on the cheap and hopefully a version 2.0 with improved quality.

I dunno, EA has offered fantastic support for those with instrument issues. Easiest one I've seen. I've, luckily, not had issues (knock on wood) with the drum set (it's responsive as hell). And I'm assuming most 360 Rock Band owners already have at least some version of Guitar Hero (find it hard to believe someone would sink $180 on a game and not be a fan of the genre) which remedies that horrible guitar. But I dunno, talking out of my ass.

Yeah they are offering some pretty good support, but I think it really comes down to people wanting to avoid the hassle of having to box everything up and send it back in then wait and wait. Like Michael Corvin said I think most people are waiting for a "2.0".

I can still pull my GH2 guitar out of the closet and it is just as responsive as it was when I first opened it up, and that is even after it was dropped down a flight of stairs not once, but twice by my niece and nephew.

Ask for balls for Christmas.

Actually, EA's support team sends you the new item when you request it, as well as a coffin for your old one. So you can use your subpar one while you wait for the new one to arrive, at which time you package it up in a special box and ship it with their shipping label.

I know VGChartz isn't that reliable, so I'm taking the numbers with a grain of salt -- but I really thought Rock Band was going to cream GH3 sales based on all the Internet "buzz".

Not sure how to explain the low sales -- supply problems? Price? Perhaps people were buying the game as four-way split?

All of the above?

Guitar Hero is an established brand. That's like asking why Zack & Wiki didn't match Super Mario Galaxy's numbers.
