To be fair, I think there's only been a handful of us commenting on the game and it seems split between good versus awesome.

for what it is worth...

Portal 2 is my favorite game this year...I am not sure how far I am into Deus....I am in China right now...I would guess I am 8 to 10 hours in....but this it he first game this year that I feel is giving Portal 2 a run for its money..

Doing stealth all the way...trying not to kill anyone or set any alarms off...it has not been a problem so far...

I was lukewarm on the game after the first non-tutorial level. Then I got to the part where the game opens up and you get quests and sidequests. Now it's pretty awesome.

The music is so much like Mass Effect...and visually it reminds me of the overworld map over Halo ODST...

anyone trying the stealth approach?

i find it alot easier just to fight my way thru.
Also you get xp for killing guys, but not for sneaking past guys.
so there is not much incentive to go stealth.

Are you on the first boss? It was much easier when you use the Environment against him as opposed to using Bullets.

Still pretty stupid, forced boss fights don't fit in this game at all.

I didn't have any issues with the first boss at all; I died once and picked up the throwing stuff at him pretty quickly. Seemed fine to me.

Although it sucks that you're this augmented guy but the player doesn't really get to do anything "bad ass" to fight him.

I'm really starting to enjoy this the further I get. I was ho-hum at first too but it seems to really pick up once you get the side missions.
I think the only knock I have right now is that the load times after dying still seem really long.

If you're playing on 360, install the game to your hard drive. That improves the load times significantly.

For PC they said they will have a patch out soon to increase load speeds.

Looks like its out, my game just updated.

Changes:

This latest patch addresses:
A frequent issue for AMD/ATI hardware users that can cause the game to crash on startup.
Improvements to loading speed. The speed increase depends on machine spec and settings, but loading time improvements of over 50% have been measured on some machines.
Some control fixes:
Diagonal movement is no longer faster as intended.
Adjustments have been made to mouse sensitivity in response to user feedback.
Mouse sensitivity for X and Y axis can still be configured separately, but is now consistent when set to default settings.
The range of settings for mouse sensitivity has been adjusted to provide for more accurate adjusting.
The default mouse sensitivity has been altered to be somewhat less sensitive.

Awesome, load times were redonkulous compared to other games on my SSD. If I get a 50% improvement that's great, but it's still too damn slow.

I get Xp each time I do a take down,....even if I don't kill them...and I get 1000-2000 bonus xp when I make it through the level having not set off any alarms or killed anyone...

The xp balances out...


I have two problems with the game...The boss fights feel out of place...especially since I am playing stealth...they really suck

Also, the cut scenes sucks...too much compression making them look murky...they would have been better off using the in game engine....

Yeah, the cutscenes that Square did kind of blow. Other than the SFX they actually look worse than the in-game graphics on the PC, :lol:.

XP definitely seems to even out no matter what path you take for a mission, which is really nice. The first mission I went all stealth and sneaked past as many as possible, and tranq'ed the rest. The following mission I just went balls out killing people. I finally got a sniper rifle, so once I suppress it, I'm going to go back to stealth, except I'll probably go for kills.

So wait, this game is actually worth playing? I thought for sure it was gonna be completely overlooked on release and then obtainable for $15 in 6 months.

So far, I'd agree with that (compared to everything else I've played on PC this year). SWTOR will probably replace it though, as far as PC games go. Also Rage, Skyrim, Diablo 3 (haha, right), Battlefield 3, etc. Lots of promising titles left this year.
