360 controller disconnecting

It seems like quite often while im online my controller just disconnects. Its such a pain having to reconnect it when im getting shot at. There isnt anything blocking the way. Is there something I can do or should I just switch to wired?

It shouldn't disconnect, unless the battery is really low and it keeps turning itself off. The only time my controller disconnects is when it is not used for 5 minutes or more or the battery is almost dead.

If it isn't the battery or idle, you might have a faulty controller. Have you tried to re-sync it and see if that helps?

Hey! Don't forget to look for any devices that could interferring with your controller(i.e 2.4ghz phones).

There is a button at the top of the controller where the recharge kit connects, between the bumper buttons. The button on the 360 is near the disc drive. Press the button on the 360 and the lights should flash, then press the button on the controller. That will sync the system.

Press both at the same time?

2.4ghz phones are cordless phones, the Xbox controller works on the 2.4ghz zone if the phone and the controller are on or near the same channels their can interfer with each other.

i've heard complaints about this and have run into it myself. I'm forced to believe it is somehow related to the recent update

When mine kept disconnecting, I changed the batteries and the problem went away. The battery meter still said full, but I had used them for a long time and figured they should be about dead. I haven't disconnected since.

One of my controllers sometimes disconnects if I swing the controller suddenly, like in a fit... (like when the damn computer cheats.... ) lol... the batteries move a little and lose contact....
