Mines doing the same thing. WTF?!
|
While Live is down, enjoy a little shopping and get this for your chick (or for the female gamers here...Gatordeb, I guess that just means you). Now, how many gamer-points is this worth?:
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...chievement.jpg Check the link for some other pix of it and a special "desert animal foot apendage" shot: http://www.splitreason.com/productdetail.php?id=457 Saw this in a magazine and thought it was pretty funny. Shame they don't have an "Achievement Unlocked" version if your girlfriend is a whore. |
That's hilarious.

nice but not really safe for work.

And now CoD4 has completely froze on me during a game twice. I am only 7 kills away from getting another challenge complete and 1000 xp. :(

Good to see I'm not alone with the freezing problems. I was almost ready to box it up and bring it to BB after it froze for about the 5th time.

And by the way, Live is making me sign in after every different game I play. Kind of obnoxious. Hope that doesn't last. |

Tried to get on Live tonight and couldn't connect. Went to Xbox.com and got:
"Xbox.com is currently down for maintenance. Please check back soon." |
scheduled maintenance.

From Joystiq:
Official Xbox Magazine has the scoop on the Fall Xbox 360 dashboard update, and you better believe it's a doozy. UK-based CVG reports that the December 2 update will allow 360 owners to download and play Microsoft-published Xbox 1 games on their 360s. Let's say that one more time: come December 2, you will be able to download full, original Xbox games to the Xbox 360. The initial list of available games includes Fable, Indigo Prophecy, Crimson Skies: High Road To Revenge, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex, Burnout 3, and, of course, Halo: Combat Evolved. Games will cost approximately 1200 Microsoft Points, or $15 USD. Microsoft plans on re-releasing as many Xbox 1 titles as possible through Marketplace. Look out, Virtual Console. |
The original article at CVG:
The Fall Xbox 360 dashboard update has been revealed to our colleagues at OXM from Microsoft and it's looking very good indeed with gaming classics and films on demand. December 4 (Tuesday) is the date you'll need to watch out for; that's the day you'll be able to download and play Halo. Yes, Halo as in the Xbox game, through Marketplace, on your Xbox 360. Microsoft is introducing games it has published for the original Xbox on XBL Marketplace, with the eventual plan to bring as much of the back catalogue across as possible. Games cost about 1200 Microsoft points (about ten quid), which according to us puts them a little over what you'd pay for them second hand. The initial list of downloads includes Halo, Fable, Fahrenheit, Crimson Skies: High Road To Revenge, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex and Burnout 3. All good then, apart from maybe Crash. And if that wasn't enough, films on demand, though not confirmed for the December 4 date, aren't far away. Studios such as Warner Bros are potentially lined up for the service, so we can look forward to films such as The Dark Knight, The Assassination of Jesse James and I Am Legend appearing eventually. Films will cost less than a fiver and come in 720p resolution. You have 14 days to start watching a film once it has downloaded. Once you started watching a film, you have 24 hours to finish it. After that, the film deletes itself from your hard drive. It's basically an online rental service then, like the US Video Marketplace. What do these new additions mean for the future of Xbox Live Arcade? Does the PS3's PSOne download service now look horribly dated? It's going to be an exciting 2008 in the download space, for sure. |

I'm experiencing a really weird problem with my Elite, which is hooked up to my HDTV with the HDMI cable that MS packaged with the console.
Back in August, I had some friends over and, when we went to play Gears of War, I turned my system on and had no sound whatsoever. This problem was eventually remedied by turning the system off, unplugging the cable and plugging it back in, and then turning the TV off/back on. The problem was pretty dormant until recently, when I turned my console on to watch the Transformers HD-DVD. When I turned it on, I once again had no sound. I tried to do the same things I did before, to try to fix it, but nothing worked...so I just left it for a bit. About 15 minutes later, I tried it again and it worked perfectly. I encountered the problem yet again, this morning when I went to play some video games with some rare free time that I had. I turned it on and had no sound whatsoever. I tried turning it on and off several times, but to no avail. I also tried unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in, but that didn't work at all. I haven't tried it since. Since the 360 is my favourite console at the moment, I spend 90% of my gaming time using it. I have purchased every other console, but I don't find any of them to be as fun as the 360 - plus, it's got the most good games out. So, this is really starting to annoy me. Anyone else experienced this problem? Anyone have any idea of what it could be? I'm 90% positive that it's the HDMI cable, but I'm worried that it could be something else. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Here's the quote from the article that seems to support that: "Films will cost less than a fiver and come in 720p resolution. You have 14 days to start watching a film once it has downloaded. As far as downloading original Xbox games...another great idea. In my opinion the price should be more around $10 than $15 but it is still a good idea. My question: How much are they going to take up of my already meager 20GB harddrive? |

Now it won't even let me sign in. It just gives me that "signing in" thing and won't allow me to stay logged in. I can't even play single play offline b/c I can't get my game saves. |

I don't think this will happen anytime soon but I think it is a great idea and will come about eventually.
What do they even get for a movie ticket now? Last time I went I think it was about $7? Don't remember. But if you have a decent little home theater setup, I'd pay 2x the single admission price anyways, to get a fairly recent release as a download. But I think it'd make piracy too easy...maybe that wouldn't be an issue though. They could just delay making it available for download for 2 or 3 weeks, so the theaters would still get their big opening weekend crowds. Plus I don't think it would lower the theater attendance overall much, because a majority of people are still going to go out for something to do. |
