Microsoft seems to think that Mistwalker is going to support them in Japan with one RPG a year, good luck with that. I suppose it'll be interesting to see how Infinite Undiscovery does (tri-Ace, 360 only) and The Last Remnant (Square-Enix, dual platform) do.
I think the PS3 is heading in the same direction.. most of the games that are going to be popular over there are being made for the DS and Wii now. Developing for the 360/PS3 is understandably an expensive endeavor, so I think there will be an unnerving focus on the US/European markets for those systems given the massive size difference in the markets compared to Japan. I do expect Sony has a LOT riding on Final Fantasy XIII but that game is easily another two years away.. and it's also the one RPG popular in the US. |

XBLive appears to be fucked up. Can't do friend's matches on games and can't see anyone's gamer scores.

With long development cycles, they can't just press a button called "fix Japan" and have a dozen games overnight. I think Infinite Undiscovery is the first "post-360 failure" attempt to put a band-aid on the Japanese problem. There are likely other projects under-wraps for that market as well. |

Even stuff like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey would have likely been in early development prior to seeing the results of the Japanese market.

DivX CEO Slips, Says DivX possibly heading to the XBox 360 DivX's brand new CEO, Kevin Hell, accidentally leaked some juicy info about their Xbox 360 plans when questioned at a JP Morgan conference. An analyst questioned Hell about the new media center extenders that have DivX and Xvid compatibility and whether the same functionality was coming to Xbox. Kevin replied, "Yes! that, uh, we're in discussions with Microsoft on that at this point in time, so I can't go into any great detail on that. Um, that is not a certified, that is not a certified or licensed product at this time." The sweet sounds of backpedaling are like Chopin for our DivX-starved ears. [SeekingAlpha] Chris |
As much as I'd love that to be true, hell will freeze over before the XBox 360 or WMCE natively supports DivX.

His last name is really Hell?

Holy Toledo!
Mass Effect is being sold already at KMart Stores, even with the big orange sticker "Do Not Sell before 11/20/07". It's also in stock at Walmart.com and ToysRUs.com They are showing up on EBay as well. It's Bioshock all over again. AGGGGHHHHH! |
lol
i know people are really desperate for this game, but to pay a BiN price of 160 on EBay for it, is a bit overdoing it |

Didnt know much about that game but i see it plays in the 3rd person perspective(ala Ghost Recon) which is nice for me since i struggle with the controller less than in the 1st person.Still trying to make the transition from PC gaming for so many years back to console ;)
Anyway that game looks cool :) |

Anyway that game looks cool :) Mass Effect technically is not a shooter. It is an RPG, and if it is anything like past Bioware RPGs, it will be a very in-depth RPG. |

Nerds in love
On November 3, 2007 Moviesign made a Forge map in HaloŽ 3, and set up what his girlfriend of over two years (furtive penguin) thought was going to be a two-on-two match with his friends. They started the game and Moviesign led furtive penguin to a spot where he claimed he'd put an energy sword. Instead there was a nice top-down view where he had spelled out a proposal in weapons. He then asked her to be his teammate for life. She said yes. Furtive penguin and Moviesign recently moved from Indianapolis to Chicago where she (penguin) is a copyeditor and he (Movie) is a graphic designer. They haven't set a wedding date yet. As furtive penguin said, "We're waiting to see what the release date is for the next Halo game. We don't want any conflicts." Congratulations to furtive penguin and Moviesign from the entire Xbox community! |

Anyone else's Live totally jacked up right now? Can't sign in, and when I go into friends/messages menu it freezes up. :(
Now it won't even let me sign in. It just gives me that "signing in" thing and won't allow me to stay logged in. I can't even play single play offline b/c I can't get my game saves. |
just now got into live after 10 mins of attempting. nobody else is logged in, its eerie. anyway theres a message from xbl saying it will be out of service for an hour on the 13th for maintenance.
