Today's Amazon sale is purchase Halo Xbox system with Halo 3 and COD4, save $50. I'm happier with yesterdays Arcade bundle deal. It would have been nice if the bundle were the Pro or Elite systems (to get the pack-in games), but I imagine that's why they are discounting the other bundles.

Looks like today's Lightning Deal at 6 p.m. will be the Orange Box?

I just ordered the Arcade 360 bundle, and now I'm picking up a few family friendly games for Christmas. I picked up Popcap Arcade (on sale at Best Buy this week), but I was looking at Live Arcade Unplugged clearanced priced $9.99 at TRU. Is that worth it for Geometry Wars (Bejewelled 2 in already included in the Popcap Arcade) and the other lesser titles included (Wik, Outpost Kaloki, Backgammon)? I don't have a hard drive, so downloading Geometry Wars isn't an option for the time-being.

Perry: I think that's a good pick.

Yeah, it's worth that. Geometry wars is $5 alone. You also forgot Texas Hold 'Em and that's a $10 game. It also includes a free month of Live that's worth about $5. Overall, still a good deal despite the overlap.

Ya, the only thing that stinks is you have to have the disk in the drive to play (but the alternative is the Oblivion GOTY type stuff, where you just save the DLC to the drive on a rental).

Perry doesn't have a hard drive with his Arcade Bundle, so it's perfect for him. I do find that I play the arcade games on the disc a heck of a lot less often than those on my HD, though.

Thanks, everyone. I'm having a hard time justifying the Amazon DOTD if I end up purchasing the hard drive. I went to TRU today looking for the $50 20GB drive, but they didn't have any. I'll stop by another one tomorrow.

Looks like us Canadians finally have movies available. Still no TV shows though. I'd love to check out Clark and Michael even.

Yep. Sadly, $45 is still too high.

I'm thinking of getting an XBox 360, but I've been nervous about the whole RRoD. In a nutshell, what should I look for when I'm buying (specific SKU # or manufactured date)? Also, what is MS' official warranty on the 360? Thanks in advance.

The microsoft warranty is 1 year. I'd look for any of the new ones with an HDMI port. These should have the heat sink to prevent getting the Red Rings.

Actually, it's a one-year "bumper-to-bumper" warranty, with a 3 yr warranty against the RROD failure, which is by far the biggest problem with the system. Though that is the official stance, I highly doubt anyone will ever have to pay for a RROD fix as it would be the world's easiest class-action suit, with MS actually admitting the system is flawed and prone to failure.

So in this case, is it better to get the store's extended warranty policy?

Look for an Elite with a Lot # higher then 739, Team FDOU and 175W on the back of it. All these things are supposed to be a giveaway that your getting a 360 that includes the new chip or motherboard (Falcon) and the lower wattage(175W) is supposed to confirm it.

Heres a pic to help ya out:

From CAG:

I bought an Elite last thursday at Target and its lot # was 743 and had 175W. So i would suggest checking out Target first. And check the back of the box, all that info is right on the back of it so you can check it out before you buy it. Hope that helps.

Even easier, someone on CAG was reporting that their 360 no longer had red leds in it. It will never get the RROD if that is the case. That would be a bold move for MS and definitely grounds for a lawsuit.

We'll warranty the RROD for three years, but next time it's in we'll remove the red leds so you can't get the RROD anymore.

So, did anyone score anything for the AMEX MyWishList promotion?

They had 100 Rock Bands for $50 and 150 Elites (w/5 games) for $300

I actually DID score and Elite package....will be selling my Premium now. Nice

Does any want an Xbox Live code for the Animatrix? I got it when I bought the HD-DVD version of the Matrix movies. It expires on 12/31 (the ability to download) and I'm not that interested in it.
