I don't really know what to think about it. I am a huge fan of the original. I had seen a video about the design of his arm and I like how it turns into a "regular" hand but I'm still unsure about it. It just seems kind of silly as a contemporary serious game. The main thing that made the original so much fun was swinging and the spot on controls. If that is intact and they don't try to do too much it should be fun.

Any why oh why isn't this coming to the Wii. That would be a great mechanic to swing with the wiimote.

Bionic Commando: Act Zero

I loved the original and will give this one a chance. It's hard to say how well it'll translate into a modern game.

I agree a WII version would be great! Maybe they'll do a port later if it does good.

If a game ever needed a stylistic colorful design and Wii controls...it's this one. The original was hilarious.

Still Capcom is porting Okami, so I'll give them a pass on this one.

Mike Patton is voicing the Bionic Commando. That at least makes me a little bit interested in this.

The latest Famistu from Japan has revealed that there is going to be a graphically updated version of the NES Bionic Commando coming out for Xbox DRM Arcade and the PlayStatioN Store. It looks like it'll probably be similar to Prince of Persia Classic, though the screenshot in the scan I've seen is too small to tell for sure.

The more and more I see of this game, the more excited I get.

They destroyed it in the Game Informer reviews. I think they gave it a 5 and a 5.5 or a 5.5 and a 6 maybe?

Ouch. That's a huge drop. Wonder if it's worth picking up that cheap or it's $20 I'm better off saving.

I played the online demo of this a while back and I wasn't impressed a whole lot. The original videos I saw looked great, but the final product felt flat. The controls were akward and it an akward 3rd person view. Maybe the single player is better with the story?

just finished the tutorial.
the swinging is very difficult so far. hopefully it will get easier as i get better at it.

doesn't seem like alot of people are playing this.
I'm on the last chapter and so far i'm liking it alot.
I think it is a very underated game.
The only thing i hate is the drowning crap.
miss a jump, fall into the water, then drown. - really annoying.

anyone else have this long ago released title? i am trying to build my new collection and the old NES game is one of my favorites of all time.

are the mechanics easy to get into to? does it last long and have epic boss battles?

Read the last few posts and you'll see that you'll want to avoid this. Sites like www.metacritic.com and www.gamerankings.com are good tools for quick overviews of various titles.

You're much better off getting Bionic Commando Rearmed on XBLA than this. Though you may want to wait for the DotD stuff to finish up, just in case it goes on sale. It was a DotW before, so it going on sale may be unlikely. I'm not 100%, but I think nothing has ever been on sale twice to date.

thanks pin. i actually already got Rearmed and can't wait to play it. thought this might be a nice next-gen update with the same NES goodness that i remembered. can get it for less than $15 new which is why i was considering...

Which is hilarious because I think I read an article awhile ago about how it was such a commercial disaster. Due in no small part to the terrible multiplayer demo.

But I thought they were saying how even Bionic Commando Rearmed outsold this dingleberry. <- get it, cause it's a swinging piece of turd?
